Police gave this description: a white female, 30 to 40 years old, with blond hair, blue eyes, about 5-foot-8 and 176 pounds, and with three tattoos: one of large tattooed wings on her back, two small tattoos on her left hand, and ironic words on her right shoulder: “Tears of a Clown.”

The phrase “tears of a clown” is a figure of speech that refers to someone who smiles at adversity. Also, the phrase was the title of a hit song in 1971 recorded by Motown stars “Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.”

Actually, it was released in July of 1970 and quite popular that fall.

Could the "Tears Of A Clown" be a reference to Insane Clown Posse/Juggalo? The group/subculture has ties to Michigan.
