I have searched for several days now, and find no record of any kind for this woman. Surely she had to have a birth record somewhere. And, her picture indicates she must have had some schooling - looks like a yearbook picture. Who were her parents, siblings, etc?

Did you try looking at yearbooks from the area on classmates?

Unrelated but it seems she went missing in the latter half of 1967 if she was 20 years old at time of disappearance and her birthday is in June.

Could be - I'd normally say that the time lapse is a problem, especially given the estimated date of death for the UID is 10 years+ after Alice's disappearance. However, given the information surrounding Alice's disappearance is so sketchy it's hard to know whether the time lapse is explainable.

The case has been officially handed off from Calcasieu Parish to Evangeline Parish, following the recent Cold Case Conference at the Hotel Cazan. AMR lived in Ville Platte on New Street with her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance. It was shown that Alice Marie was on her way to a specific hair salon in Ville Platte, when she dropped the baby off at the babysitter in Mamou. Babysitter was aunt by marriage of her boyfriend. While she did have a cosmetology license, she was also a prostitute. The boyfriend, Joyfre Bertrand (first name spelled several ways on various documents) was on the birth certificate of the baby, as father. He was also Alice Marie’s pimp. Known domestic violence between them.

No results on Ancestry. Who reported her missing is the key to understand this case
She was reported in 2013 by Alice Marie’s baby daughter, who was dropped off at the babysitter. Original report taken by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. Jurisdiction has been handed off to Evangeline Parish, where she was domiciled, and whence she disappeared.
