ROLLINSFORD, N.H. — New Hampshire State Police posted information on Facebook Saturday about an unsolved murder in Rollinsford from 1985 in hopes that the public can help them generate new leads.
Police said Lisa K. Snyder of Bow was 20 years old when she was reported missing on July 4, 1985.

Police said she was visiting her sister in Rollinsford before her disappearance. She left there to go to a Dover nightclub and hadn't been seen since.

Her decomposed body was found off Rollins Road in Rollinsford on April 18, 1987. The medical examiner concluded that Snyder had been strangled to death.

We’re just trying to spark some interest, get it out there,” Ducharme said. “It hasn’t been public for quite some time. Hopefully there’s someone who remembers something or has some information that can get this crime solved and get some closure for the family.”

Ducharme was the responding officer in 1987 when a man reported finding Snyder’s partially clothed skeletal remains after he stopped to look at some old farm equipment near a collapsed rock foundation off Rollins Road. The area is known as the old Dodge Farm.

The main suspect in the case, Edward B. Pehowic of Somersworth, was convicted in 1999 for the 1996 murder of Carol Caswell, a Portsmouth woman. Police believed Pehowic was responsible for the Snyder murder because of the similarity between Snyder’s death and Caswell’s. It was also similar to the murder of Sheila J. Holmes, a slaying Pehowic admitted to while being interviewed about Snyder’s murder. Pehowic was never charged in Snyder’s death, and is currently serving a life sentence for Caswell’s murder at a facility in Oregon.
