NSW HOMICIDE SQUAD JOIN MISSING WOMAN CASE
Daily Telegraph

'Homicide detectives have been asked to assist in the investigation into the disappearance of NSW woman Allecha Boyd, with hopes fading of finding the 27-year-old alive.

Police spent Wednesday combing Lester State forest outside Coolamon, in the state's Riverina, where Ms Boyd was last seen on August 10.

A number of items found in the bushland search have been sent for forensic examination.

Since her disappearance, Ms Boyd, who was living in Wagga Wagga, has not contacted her family, accessed her bank accounts or posted to social media.

Police concede they have "serious concerns for her welfare".

"Given the circumstances of this case and that regular contact has ceased and that she hasn't been seen or heard of since the 10th, on that basis alone there's enough concern regarding her welfare to warrant specialist police involvement," Detective Inspector Darren Cloake told AAP on Thursday.'

  • Homicide detectives have joined the search for a missing Wagga Wagga woman
  • Allecha Boyd, cousin of AFL star Will Hoskin-Elliot, disappeared in early August
  • The 27-year-old's green Subaru Outback car was discovered by police last week
  • CCTV footage shows Ms Boyd shopping at Woolworths the day she disappeared

'There are fears a woman missing for more than a month may be dead, with homicide detectives joining her family in a desperate search to find her.

Allecha Boyd, the cousin of Collingwood AFL star Will Hoskin-Elliot, was last seen at a Woolworths supermarket in Wagga Wagga, NSW, on the morning of August 10.

The 27-year-old chef's disappearance has been described as 'out of character' by her worried relatives, who are using social media channels in an effort to find her.

Police last week found a green and silver Subaru Outback they believe Ms Boyd used to travel the 40 kilometres north to Coolamon on the day she went missing.

And now, with fears continuing to grow for her wellbeing, homicide detectives have joined the search for Ms Boyd and are appealing to the public for information.'

''Police enquiries to date have identified the vehicle and are not in a position to give the registration of that vehicle,' Detective Inspector Darren Cloake told the SMH.

'We are unable to say who was driving (the vehicle) however that person is known to us.''

SEPTEMBER 21, 20175:47PM

Ms Boyd was from Melbourne but had been living in Wagga Wagga where she recently started working as a chef.

Allecha was in a same-sex relationship but the pair broke up a month before she disappeared.

Her ex-partner, who had moved interstate, had serious concerns for Allecha’s welfare as her disappearance was out of character.

Ms Boyd’s sisters have flown to Wagga Wagga for a public appeal they hope will help bring the mystery to an end. It’s understood family members have been told police are making good progress and are confident they will have news soon.

“Our stance on this is it is still under investigation, still highly suspicious in terms of our concerns over her disappearance,” Detective Inspector Darren Cloake told AAP on Thursday.
“We once again enforce the need for anyone with any information to come forward, even if it is from before her disappearance,” he said.

Earlier this month, The Daily Telegraph reported sister Rhiannon said Ms Boyd was “really troubled” and they had argued over “her decisions in life”.
Despite that, she desperately wanted her home. “She is my blood and I do love my sister,” she said.
While they cling to the hope their sister is still alive, there is anger growing in Ms Boyd’s inner circle about the people who are withholding crucial information.

That anger is also directed at the man who was seen in the green and silver Subaru. “Shame on the person that knows who Allecha was last with and not naming him,” one friend wrote, while another said, “This is ******** the last person who saw her must know something!! Keep him until he breaks.”

Ms Boyd's sisters have joined police in a public plea for information. (9NEWS)

'The sisters of a woman who went missing in regional New South Wales 42 days ago have fought back tears during an appeal to the public.

Allecha Boyd was last seen in Coolamon near Wagga Wagga when she was dropped off in a 1990 Subaru Outback on August 10.

The 27-year-old chef, who moved to the town two years ago, has made no contact with family or friends and her bank account, phone and social media accounts have not been used since.

“Allecha is a caring, loving person. She will travel the world and back to make sure that anyone is safe and okay,” her sister Tammara Boyd told reporters today.

“We are going on six weeks now. Allecha, if you can hear us, we just want you know that we love you. We just want to be safe.”

Homicide detectives are continuing to search for Ms Boyd after she was reported missing on August 22.

Her sisters, who travelled to Wagga Wagga from Victoria, today described her disappearance as out of character.

"Allecha is a family-orientated person… she contacts us at least three times a week,” Ms Boyd said.

“She has made a life up here as a chef and she has gone from place to place but this is not in her character.”

'Last week, detectives seized the green and silver Subaru Outback they believe Ms Boyd may have been travelling in on the day of her disappearance.

Police believe the car was used to travel from Wagga Wagga 40 kilometres north to the town of Coolamon on August 10, the day she disappeared.

Detective Inspector Darren Cloake from Wagga Police today said police were focusing their efforts on facts relating to her August 10 disappearance.

“We are seeking information that may go towards understanding her intentions on that day,” Inspector Cloake said.

Police are appealing for members of the public with information concerning Ms Boyd’s whereabouts to come forward.

“We are confident that someone out there has information that may be able to provide us with some of the answers to the question’s we’re asking,” Inspector Cloake said.

“There is always hope … Given the fact that we haven’t had phone contact with the family or friends, no transaction on bank accounts, we would be amiss not to think that something untoward has happened to Allecha.”

“If someone knows something, let us know. Just tell us,” Ms Boyd said.

“Tell us anything that can help us bring Allecha closer to home."

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.'

The family of missing Wagga woman Allecha Boyd have offered a $100,000 reward to find her

25 Sep 2017, 8:30 p.m.

September 26 will be a particularly difficult day for the family of missing woman Allecha Boyd.

In a first, on what has always been a day to celebrate, the family are marking Allecha’s 28th birthday in sorrow; and in a desperate act, they are offering a $100,000 reward for her return.

What started as $50,000, quickly doubled as more family believed the reward could be the circuit breaker in finding Allecha.

The belongings and car of missing NSW Riverina woman Allecha Boyd have been returned to her family as hope fades she will be found alive.

Ms Boyd, who was 27 and living in Wagga Wagga when she was last seen at a local supermarket on August 10, has not contacted her family, accessed her bank accounts or posted to social media since then.

"As time progresses the ability for us to see her returned safely home to her friends and family becomes less and less, but we maintain a positive outlook," Detective Inspector Darren Cloake told AAP on Monday.

"We're still seeking further information from members of the public."

The Sydney Morning Herald
Rachel Olding
1 minute ago (as at 9:59 AEDT 8 November 2017)

‘A Wagga Wagga teenager has been charged with the murder of chef Allecha Suzette Boyd, 89 days after she disappeared from the NSW Riverina area.’

‘Homicide police formed a strike force in September after suspecting that she may have met with foul play.

On Tuesday evening, they arrested a 19-year-old man at a home in Gurwood Street, Wagga Wagga. A shortened rifle, believed to be the weapon used to kill Ms Boyd, was seized at the home.

The man has been charged with murder, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing ammunition without a permit, not keeping a prohibited firearm safe and breach of bail.

He will appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.‘

I was surprised , way back in September, ? when a reward was posted, quite a large amount , at least, in Wagga, it would appear to be so.. and nothing seemed to be forthcoming from it, but obviously, something did shift... I wonder who dobbed him in. .. 19 years old, his associates would see $100,000.00 as perfectly adequate a reason , more than enough, if you are around 19 and in Wagga.

When I read that she had only been in Wagga 2 years, I wondered if she had time to become au fait with the harshness and undercurrents of Wagga, as in it's much smaller neighbor, Griffith.. same odd hardness, .. a combo of environment and something else, hard to describe. Harder to label, too. .. She would have been working all the hours God sent as a chef, too, not much time to lift the head and look around..

A barbaric event. .. If he did this alone, it will be another surprise to me.

My sympathies to her mother, and sisters, and her ex partner, , so terrible, so grotesque .

Saw that too Troop..........Mr Melbourne??

Saw that too Troop..........Mr Melbourne??

I was lured in by Darren's twitter, .. and there he goes, on Facebook, thanks for this link, Dr. S... appreciated....

Seems that there is a lot of confidence in this arrest, no body, but he's been charged with murder.. . did you get the impression that they have a few others in their scope at this time?. I did, and I wonder if this isn't a pack of bumbling amateurs , ... there seems ,also, to be a big commercial ice distribution outfit in Coolamon, .. a man and a woman were arrested last week as part of that horror. ...I wonder if that is connected.

There is a huge difference between someone 19 and someone 28... it appears they are not known to each other... . yet.. they must have run into each other at some point... .

But her body has certainly been interfered with, because it has been hidden somewhere. . the Murrumbidgee is always handy for that, but like a lot of rivers, it eventually gives up what's thrown into it , further downstream... ..

awful, Dr. S...

About the Coolamon Ice arrests.. this bloke charged, seemed to be very heavily armoured up, with unlicensed weapons, which is generally speaking, not the country way.. they like to keep their guns , not have the local copper irritatingly checking up on them re licences etc. Seems to me this 19 yr old was keen to have his guns a secret, which , again, isn't usually the country way.. .

merely speculation, though..

I see that he has been charged with the murder of Allecha , this taking place at the home in Gurwood St., apparently where he had been living. How on earth did she wind up there?...

He didn't request bail and will be back in court in January.

'Police allege Hagan murdered the 27-year-old at Coolamon on Thursday, August 10, the day she was last seen alive.'

this probably supersedes yesterday's statement that she was murdered at the Gurwood St. address... deeper mystery, Dr S.. should we assume she went in that Subaru with Hagan to Coolamon?....., I am , for the moment.... what for, though?>.... why would she?...
