Como Park is in St. Paul. The U of M, for the most part, is in Minneapolis. Eagan (the other LE agency investigating) is south of both Mpls and St. Paul. Como Park is not in the best area to be at night. If I had to guess he is probably a resident of Eagan or his parents are. There is a very large population of Somali's living in MN. Actually, the population is the largest in the United States. I wish there was info as to his actions during and after the bon fire. Vehicle? Cell? Was there any encounters with people during the event? There are some larger Somali gangs in the Twin City area. Not saying that he was a part of one, but if one did get word of this event, they could have went there for reasons other than a bon fire. Just a lot of questions here.

Lake Como is close to the park. Perhaps that should be checked....

You are definitely correct that the Como area is definitely not a safe place to be at night. I absolutely hated taking University Ave through there after dark.

I'm curious as to how he arrived there. Did he drive his own vehicle, catch a ride with someone or take a bus? (OT - but I definitely would not take a bus at night! I was stupid as a teen and did so through St.Paul and Minneapolis, I'm surprised I was never assaulted! )

Yeah, been there and done that! Young and dumb I was! I am wondering about a cell phone. Cannot imagine that he did not have one at the time. They should be able to ping it.
