Destiny Navarette, 16 who lives in Orcutt, went missing the morning of Sept. 19. She was last seen Sept. 18 at Righetti High School, where she is a student.

Navarette is with her 18-year-old boyfriend, Miguel Perez De La Cruz of Guadalupe, who has an active warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation. There also is a current criminal protective order prohibiting De La Cruz from contacting Navarette. Earlier this year, she was reported as a runaway and was later found with De La Cruz.

De La Cruz may be associated with a blue 2001 Ford minivan with the California license plate 6VUA712. The vehicle is registered to De La Cruz’s father.

Authorities believe the two teenagers may be staying in hotels in the Santa Maria area, and they have reportedly been spotted in Guadalupe.

There also was a report De La Cruz had planned to move to Oregon.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help locating 16-year-old Destiny Navarette of Orcutt and a wanted man believed to be with her.

Navarette is believed to be with her boyfriend, 18-year-old Miguel Perez De La Cruz, of Guadalupe, who has an active warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Authorities also said there is a current, criminal protective order prohibiting Perez from contacting Navarette.

"There is no information to suggest that Navarette is being held against her will but the Sheriff’s Office hopes to find her and reunite her with her family," said the Sheriff's Office in a statement. Earlier in the year, Navarette was found alongside De La Cruz after she was reported as a runaway.

Perez may be associated with a blue 2001 Ford minivan, CA. lic #6VUA712 vehicle registered to his father.

Investigators say De La Cruz reportedly planned to move to Oregon but there is currently no information the Sheriff's Office has received indicating that's where he may be heading. They believe the two may be staying in hotels in the Santa Maria Valley.

Missing Orcutt teen found safe in Oregon, boyfriend arrested

An Orcutt teenager missing since Sept. 18 and her wanted boyfriend were found Wednesday afternoon in Washington, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Destiny Navarette, 16, and Miguel Perez De La Cruz, 18, of Guadalupe were located in Othello, Washington, where one of Perez’s relatives lives, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Kelly Hoover.
