Family and friends are reaching out to the community to help locate 27-year-old Shaylia Helland of Fergus Falls.

Helland was last seen leaving her group home in Fergus Falls around 9:00PM Thursday night.

Helland has long blond hair with green eyes, and is five feet, six inches tall weighing approximately 150 pounds.

Police say Helland left the group home on her own free will after becoming upset. The missing persons report was filed Friday morning and police are following up on information they've learned to find her.

Oh my, if you use the google browser and search her name there is a very concerning post IMO by her on a site that is scary to me. It was only 3 days ago. Wonder if she met someone from there??

Very concerning as it is possible someone convinced her to leave and meet.

ETA If you search her name on facebook you will find an individual post that is concerned for her.

And so it seems the post found earlier on Google by doodles1211 may play into why she is missing. :(
 
Yeah, was just reading the interesting comments. Not looking like she will easily be found.

Shaylia Helland, 27, is a vulnerable adult who left her group home last Friday and may be headed toward New Jersey or Dallas.

She appears to be getting rides from truck drivers and has been seen waiting at truck stops for another ride. She was last known to be at the Rogers Truck Stop in Rogers, Minnesota on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 a.m. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Authorities believe Helland may be using what she believes is her Cherokee name, Akechhta Halona. She told a truck driver from Fergus Falls that she was fleeing an abusive relationship in Canada.

Shaylia is under the guardianship of her parents. She suffers from some mental illness and walks very bow-legged. She is approximately 5'6" tall, weighs 150 pounds and has blond hair and green eyes.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says authorities are looking for a missing vulnerable 27-year-old woman who left a Fergus Falls group home and might be headed to either New Jersey or Dallas.

At one point, Helland reportedly told a truck driver from Fergus Falls she had fled from Canada. She is under her parents' guardianship and suffers from mental illness, the BCA release says. She walks with a pronounced bow-legged gait, according to the release.

Well it sounds like the trucker community is getting the info out to each other. If the news that she is found is true that would be great. Hope msm comes out. If not, hope they keep spreading the word.
