Officials and family members are still searching for a woman missing since Wednesday from the 4900 block of Good Drive in New Orleans East.

A family member said 76-year-old Jean Stokes was last heard from by family in a phone call around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 11. The family member said Stokes has not contact the family since that call, which is unusual.

Family and members of the New Orleans Police Department will be searching the area of the 4900 block of Good Drive around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Police say Stokes drives a silver 2005 Toyota Rav 4, with Louisiana license plate number SQB 685.

Some of the same as posted above by Daligali and a little more info-

A vehicle matching the description was discovered on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. on Dwyer Boulevard near A Street. An update on Stokes’ whereabouts has not been released at this time.

NOPD later confirmed that the car does belong to Stokes. The scene where the car was found was taped off until the car was towed away.

A prayer vigil for Stokes was held outside of her home on Tuesday night.

Human remains were found yesterday off of the same Hwy her car was found. I doubt it's Ms. Stokes because the remains were skeletal. Probably just a coincidence.

A preliminary NOPD report says police opened an unclassified death investigation after the fisherman discovered the remains in the woods near the 15200 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

When officers arrived, they found the remains on the ground close to a tree "while a rope was still hanging from the tree," NOPD spokesman Gary Scheets said. He said the department is investigating the found remains as an "unclassified death."

Investigators found the vehicle Tuesday afternoon in a remote area of Dwyer Boulevard near A Street. Officials said no plates were found on the car when it was discovered. The vehicle belongs to Jean Stokes, 76, who was reported missing more than a week ago from the 4900 block of Good Drive, about a mile from where her vehicle was found Tuesday.

The family last heard from her about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 11 via a phone call.

Police said they couldn't comment on whether a body was found inside the car, which appeared to be abandoned. A body wasn't visible from a distance as the vehicle was towed away. Police also didn't say whether they believed some skeletal human remains found Monday in woods in the 15200 block of Chef Menteur Highway might be involved in Stokes' case. A man who was fishing nearby found the unidentified remains under a tree that had a rope hanging from it less than two miles from where Stokes' car was spotted. Authorities on Tuesday did not release a cause of death for the unidentified person whose remains were found a day earlier.

Stokes' SUV was found toward the back of a subdivision that is largely under construction. The spot was about a 10-minute drive from her home.

"Police in New Orleans East found skeletal human remains near Irish Bayou on Wednesday, but they stopped short of saying whether they believe the discovery may be involved in the case of Jean Stokes, a 76-year-old New Orleans East woman who's been missing for two weeks."

"Meanwhile, on Monday, another set of skeletal remains were found in the 15200 block of Chef Menteur Highway, or less than two miles from where Stokes' SUV turned up. Police haven't said whether they believe the first set of remains may be involved in the disappearance of Stokes, which officials fear may be the result of foul play."

It seems to be or someone is using it as such.

Missing nearly a month: http://www.wdsu.com/article/missing...-and-i-will-not-stop-looking-for-her/13151290

Stokes was at her home on Oct 11 when she last talked to a family member on the phone. She has not been seen or heard from since. Police found her car off Dwyer Boulevard on Oct. 24 with the license plate removed. Investigators have not released any information about what was found in Stokes car, but have said foul play could be involved in her disappearance.

Teams searched the woods for hours Friday, but did not find Stokes or any new clues.

Missing woman's daughter: 'Y'all owe me, and I will not stop looking for her

Her family is begging the community to keep looking for Stokes.

"New Orleans, y'all owe me," said Darlene Veal, Stokes's daughter. "Y'all owe me right now. You owe me my mama. You owe me. You need to bring her back to me. Y'all owe me, and I will not stop looking for her."
