Sharee Gai Lindley, 45, was last seen in the early hours of September 5, 2005, struggling with an unidentified person on the side of the Brand Highway less than an hour after being caught having an affair with a local tradesman.
During a 2006 inquest into her death Geoffrey Lindley - a Dongara policeman at the time - became a suspect when it was revealed he had refused to co-operate with the original police inquiry. There was also evidence given to the inquest that Mr Lindley had made changes to his step-son's statement which gave him an alibi.
Before the inquest ended Mr Lindley, who was sacked from the police service for failing to help with the investigation, made a sworn statement denying any role in his wife's death.
