Angelia Joy Hilbert

A memorial service is scheduled for Angelia Joy Hilbert of Louisville, who was last seen June 3, 1989. Her body has never been found. She was born in Texas and was a former clerk for BP Oil Co. Her father is a former pastor of a church in Owensboro.

Survivors include a daughter, Alyssa M. Hilbert; her parents, The Rev. John Spaulding and Joyce Spaulding; a grandfather, Charles W. Bensing; two brothers, Rick J. Lawson and Kendall S. Spaulding; and two sisters, Shelley Friebert and Cheryl S. Grieb.

A memorial services is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shively United Methodist Church, 3107 S. Crums Lane, Louisville. Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorial gifts take the form of donations to the Spouse Abuse Center in Louisville or the Angie Spaulding Hilbert Scholarship Fund, sponsored by University of Louisville Wesley Foundation.

There seems an obvious suspect in this case. Angelia's husband was John T Hilbert and she filed for divorce a month before disappearing. 10 years after her disappearance, in 1999, John T Hilbert shot dead two men in an argument involving an ex girlfriend who was involved with one of the dead men. He stretched the judicial process to three trials, arguing self defense and judicial errors, before being finally found guilty and sentenced to 25 years. He is currently locked up and will be for some time. Perhaps the mystery is how a pastor's daughter ends up marrying someone like this at the age of 20.

I don’t see a huge resemblance, but her stats match up pretty well, especially the pregnancy. Looking at the missing people UP16000 has been compared to previously, Angelia looks somewhat like them.

Bumping up. What a sad case. I hope they have DNA on file and have done a lot of automatic comparisons by now?
