Washington County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Monday.

Annieka Vaughan is believed to be traveling with 23-year-old Zachary Petersen of Pasco who may be suicidal and armed, said Deputy Jeff Talbot, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The teenager ran away from her home in Aloha, the spokesman said. Petersen disappeared the same day and called a crisis line in Washington before he left, Talbot said.

Petersen typically drives a white 1998 Ford F-250 with an extended cab and Washington license plate C20874C. He was last seen in the Portland area and investigators believe he could be traveling in Seaside or Sacramento.

Vaughan is described as 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. Petersen is described as 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, with buzzed brown hair and brown eyes.

Detectives believe she is with 23-year-old Zachary Petersen of Pasco, Washington. Petersen is a suspect in an ongoing criminal investigation.

Deputies said Petersen called a crisis line in Washington prior to disappearing and he is believed to be suicidal and possibly in possession of a gun.

Petersen is known to drive a white 1998 Ford F-250 extended cab truck with Washington plates C20874C.

His last known location was in the Portland area, but detectives believe he may be traveling to the Oregon coast or California.

Vehicle connected to search for missing teen located in Portland

The truck, a 1998 Ford F-250 extended cab pickup with license plates matching those released by deputies, was spotted near Cornell Road by a passerby Monday who reported the vehicle to the Portland Police Bureau just before 8 a.m.

Officers told FOX 12 they performed an initial search of the area near Forest Park but did not find anything outside the vehicle.

ETA-

The deputies who responded to the scene told FOX 12 a backpack was found in the truck, and shortly after 12:30 p.m. they confirmed the bag belonged to Vaughan.

They also said they plan on continuing a search in the heavily wooded area.

What has the weather been like there? Is there any chance they have been camping out in the park? I don't like that her backpack was found in the truck. Makes me think it was left because he didn't plan on her needing it anymore

The truck belongs to 23-year-old Zachary Petersen, of Pasco, Washington. A backpack that belongs to Vaughan was also found inside the truck, which was towed for evidence processing.

Officers conducted a search of the wooded area where the truck was discovered. Later Monday evening, police searched another wooded area near Southwest Fairview Boulevard and the Hemlock Trail. The search was based on a tip that someone heard voices in the woods. After a lengthy search, which included a K-9 team and air support, police did not find anyone.

Petersen was reported missing to the Pasco Police Department on Oct. 30. Before he disappeared, Petersen called a crisis phone line. Detectives believe he is suicidal and he has a gun in his possession.

Vaughan is 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds. She has brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.
