Found Deceased SC - Robert, 25, & Chaz Blanding, 19, Beaufort, 21 Nov 2017 *Arrests*

Authorities say a 25-year-old man has been found shot to death and the 19-year-old nephew with him is missing in South Carolina.

Beaufort County deputies said Robert Blanding's body was found on a road in Lady's Island on Wednesday. He had been shot several times.

Chaz Blanding has not been seen by his family members since Tuesday and has since been reported missing and endangered, according to the release. The two Blanding men were last seen leaving Chaz Blanding’s home in Beaufort.

Beaufort County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 16-year-old Raheem Bennett Tuesday night in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Robert Blanding on Nov. 22.

According to the Nixle alert sent out last Wednesday by the sheriff’s office, deputies found Blanding in a drainage ditch off of F&B Road on Lady’s Island around 4:30 p.m.

BSCO investigators also learned Blanding’s nephew, 19-year-old Chaz Blanding, was last seen with him, according to a separate Nixle alert. Officials say Chaz Blanding is still missing.

Deputies arrested Bennett Tuesday night outside of a convenience store on Lady’s Island, according to a Nixle alert, and served two arrest warrants for murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The Beaufort County Coroner's office confirms the person found on St. Helena Island on Saturday is 19-year-old Chaz Blanding, who had been missing for 12 days.

The Island Packet reports that a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release issued Sunday says the person found dead on St. Helena Island on Saturday has been identified as Chaz Blanding. A forensic autopsy revealed he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Three teenagers have been identified as suspects in connection with Robert Blanding's death.
A 16-year-old and 18-year-old Channon Preston Jr. have been arrested, and 19-year-old Nashon Pringle is on the run. It's unclear if they have lawyers.
