BREAKING: Charleston Police say the mother left the baby in a Pack and Play for three days unattended, which led to the death of the 2-year old.

Savannah Weiss, 22, of Charleston was arrested after her 2-year-old son was left unattended for three days, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department. Police said paramedics found the child dead in the home, and Weiss confessed to leaving him in a Pack-n-Play playpen unattended from Friday to Sunday.

Police report she told them the child was left in a Pack & Play unattended at the home from Dec. 1 until Dec. 3. Weiss stated she woke up Monday, Dec. 4 to find the child unresponsive.

She left him with two PBJ sandwiches and a vitamin bottle full of water with a pinprick hole to drink through. Homes was full of animal feces, garbage, debris and basic filth. :burn:
 
This poor baby shouldn’t have had to suffer like that. Sickening.

Per news conference bond is $1.5 million and court is set for Dec. 11

Did she just have another baby? There's pictures she just posted on FB on 12/5/17 of her having a baby who looks like they are in the NICU.
 
I just went down a facebook rabbit hole (family members comments). What's really sad is she seemingly had a large support network.

I'm so damn tired of cases with dead children. I have taken a lot of flak over the years for my view about anyone and everyone popping out children who are abused, neglected, tortured and murdered. It's very obvious to me that some people should never be allowed to procreate. This worthless piece of trash is one of those people who you really do not want to contribute to the gene pool.

O'Brien scheduled a hearing for Jan. 8 to check the status of the case.

Weiss remains jailed with her bond set at a level that would require $150,000 to be posted for release.

The charges against her accuse her of failing to provide food, water and sanitary conditions for the boy, leading to his death by dehydration or starvation.

The charges allege that Weiss knew or should have known that created a "strong possibility" of death or great harm to the boy. She could receive life in prison if convicted.

What is a pack and play? Is it similar to what we used to call a playpen?
 
How awful. I just looked pack and play up. Even smaller than an old playpen. What a horrible way to die.
