"A woman cleaning a Hawaii vacation home Wednesday with her 8-year-old daughter was brutally murdered and the girl bound and duct-taped, Hawaii police said as they announced two arrests in the case."

Stephen Brown, 23, and Hailey K. Dandurand, 20, appeared in court before Judge Colette Garibaldi after the two were indicted Tuesday with second-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping and first-degree burglary in Telma Boinville’s death.

Deputy public defender Darcia Forrester entered the not guilty plea on Brown’s behalf and defense attorney Kenji Akamu entered the not guilty plea on Dandurand’s behalf.

Brown also pleaded not guilty to a fourth-degree criminal property charge for allegedly kicking the window out of a police vehicle while being transported to the Honolulu Police Department’s main headquarters from the Wahiawa police station.

Dandurand also pleaded not guilty to second-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information. Police found Boinville’s Bank of Hawaii card in Dandurand’s shirt pocket.

Garibaldi confirmed Brown’s bail at $1 million and Dandurand’s bail at $500,000. Their trial is scheduled for the week of Feb. 19.

Stephen Brown and Hailey Dandurand appeared at a pretrial hearing on Wednesday. They were supposed to go to trial in February, but it has been postponed to July 23.


No wonder I couldn't find anything on this trial.... :waiting:
 
Not too sure if this is actually going to start today, as the only articles I can pull up on this is from Jan. 25, 2018. And of course, I can't get into the Hawaiian court sites!!

Anyone - can you access Hawaii court records?? And to "see" what's going on with this case? At trial?? or not?? TIA!

I googled, but only came up with articles going back to Jan. 25, 2018.

Trial for North Shore murder suspects delayed

HONOLULU (KHON2) - The trial for two people accused of killing a woman on the North Shore has been pushed back to next year.

The delay was granted after the defense said it needed more time to review evidence.

The trial is now set for January 2019.

And since the article didn't give a date for trial, thank goodness I can get into Hawaii's court site! :)
