Possible terror attack alert in Barcelona, Spain. Avoid crowded areas.

“Spanish police are hunting for a 37-year-old Islamist who is reported to be planning a terror attack in Barcelona.

The suspect is El Ouakili Abdelhakim, a French citizen residing in Germany, according to a Policía Nacional memo seen by newspaper La Gaceta

Abdelhakim is known to have visited websites filled with terrorists material and 'there is information that this individual is going to attack with a knife', the memo says.

So if the man is that dangerous, and everybody knows, how come he was able to travel freely?

Don't bother to answer..... :gaah:

“Spanish police have called off a manhunt for a 37-year-old man after fears he had traveled to Barcelona to carry out a terror attack.

Police were warned to be on the lookout for El Ouakili Abdelhakim, a French citizen residing in Germany, according to an internal memo seen by La Gaceta.

But the search has now been called off because he has left the country, Spain's National Police said in a tweet.”

Panic over he has left Spain I don’t think so! Where is he now?

So if the man is that dangerous, and everybody knows, how come he was able to travel freely?

Because the EU has open borders between member states, the same as the US has between states.

So long as the EU was largely comprised of the states of western europe and was inhabited by the citizens of those states, free movement worked fine. Add in the new accession states of central and eastern Europe and a large influx of outsiders from the Arab and African spheres and now we have problems.

IMHO if leaving Spain is all it takes to become less dangerous, Spain should share this secret with their allies.
