Update!

http://www.wdaz.com/news/4385077-tuesday-news-update-01-09

Prosecutors and the attorney representing Brooke Crews want that date to be February 2nd, instead of January 16th. They want to make sure all parties have the opportunity to be at the sentencing. The change is still waiting for a judge's signature. Crews pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and providing false information to police. She faces the possibility of life in prison.

Hoehn's trial still starts March 20th.

Don't know if this is happening today, as I haven't seen anything that the Judge signed the motion to move it to Feb. 2nd.

Tuesday, January 16th:
*Sentencing (Maybe Feb. 2nd) - ND - Savanna Marie LaFontaine-Greywind (22) (Aug. 19, 2017) - Brooke Lynn Crews (38) charged with Conspiracy to commit murder (Class AA Felony), conspiracy to commit kidnapping (Class A Felony) & giving false info to LE (Class a Misdom); pled not guilty on $2M cash bond. 12/11 pled guilty to all charges.

Oops - just got a google Alert:

Sentencing date set for woman charged in Greywind murder

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) The sentencing date for the Fargo woman charged in the death of Savanna Greywind has now been set.

Brooke Crews is scheduled to appear in court in Fargo on February 2nd.

Crews changed her plea to guilty for charges of Conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, and providing false information to law enforcement back in December.

Here's an article with the dates for the next hearing & trial date:

LaFontaine-Greywind murder trial delayed until May; change of venue possible
http://www.westfargopioneer.com/new...d-murder-trial-delayed-until-may-change-venue

The trial was originally scheduled to start March 20, but Judge Tom Olson and attorneys in the case agreed at a status conference on Tuesday, Jan. 16, that the date was unrealistic because of information that still needs to be obtained and the desire to send a questionnaire to prospective jurors. After the conference, a new trial start date of May 15 was set.
[.....]
Judge Olson also ordered that a pretrial conference be held in February to consider questions to be included on the questionnaire and other procedural matters. The pretrial conference was later scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9.

Thank you for the updates, Niner (note, no parenthesis here, oh shoot just did it)

I've been on and off watching this story, since the beginning. Did it ever come out how the baby was "born"? Will it ever come out do you think? I am not ghoulish, but I only know one way that an unborn baby is taken from its mother. If there is another way, I'd be very interested.

Maybe she gave her Pitocin? Or I believe she stated in one of her journals that she knew how to induce labor (but I can't remember exactly what she said). I wonder if at her sentencing when the Judge says what she's admitting she is guilty of, he includes how she induced birth or what she did to take the baby from the mother's womb. That's a big part of what she's guilty of so I would think he would have to address that.

:bump: up for today's sentencing:

LWOP? Maybe, maybe not:

"In my experience in North Dakota, I don't know of very many cases where the court has imposed life imprisonment without the possibility of parole," said Bob Hoy, who was Cass County state's attorney from 1981 to 1990. "I don't think it's a foregone conclusion. I think it's much more complicated than that."

Presently, there are 141 inmates serving time in North Dakota for murder, but only 27 of them were sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

"It's not a slam dunk," said Steven Morrison, a law professor at the University of North Dakota. "It's going to depend on the facts of the case. We don't know everything about it."

I expect that Crews will allocute so hopefully we'll learn what she did to Savanna.
