Nearly five days later, Gray’s cell phone is shut off, his voicemail box is full and Kalamazoo investigators said it's possible the 69-year-old is in danger.

“He very well could be,” Capt. Shannon Bagley said Tuesday. “We’re trying to run down every lead we can to make that determination.”

Investigators are also looking for people who were at the unnamed location at the time of the altercation when Gray was last seen.

“There’s some individuals that were there that we hope come forward, so that they could shine some light on this so we can locate Mr. Gray,” Bagley said.

So far, the limited information police have to work has come from third-parties, not firsthand knowledge. Bagley said that’s why a lot of information is still being withheld.

“There's certain parts of it that we have been able to kind of substantiate it, but a lot of it we have not so I don't want to say anything that would cause somebody to go down the wrong path or believe something that was inaccurate,” Bagley said.

The police department has not released the location where Gray was last seen or who reported him missing.

Found deceased in Detroit [emoji20]: https://www.freep.com/story/news/lo...-kalamazoo-man-found-dead-detroit/1046108001/

Investigators found his body Sunday in Detroit. Bagley wouldn't divulge specifically where it was discovered, but he did say he believed Gray was killed in Kalamazoo.

A 34-year-old man from New Haven has been arrested on open murder charges, Bagley said. His name has not been publicly released.

RIP, Mr Gray.

During the probable cause hearing a detective is heard saying, “KDPS detectives became involved due to the nature of the reports that Gray was beaten to death inside 1215 North Rose Street, a search warrant was executed at the residence.”

The investigating detective described the scene and identified Shanadore Rice, 34, of South Haven, as a suspect...

The detective alleges Gray's body was stuffed in the trunk of his 2009 Chevy Malibu and driven to Detroit where he was dumped behind an abandoned house.
