Fort Smith, AR -- - The Fort Smith Police Department is opening a new investigation after a body was discovered outside a barbershop.

At about 10:30 Sunday morning, an employee of Supercuts (at 2700 Zero Street) arrived at work. When she walked up, she found a dead mean laying outside the door.
"We are saying that the death does look suspicious to us." said Cpl. Anthony Rice, with the Fort Smith Police Department.

According to police, the Supercuts employee called 911.

"When officers arrived they found a white make approximately 35 to 45 years of age deceased. Right now we are unable to identify him." Cpl. Rice said.

According to Rice, the man had several injuries but none that would have resulted in his death.
That's why at this point, police are calling it suspicious.
"He does have some injuries to his face none of the injuries appear to be anything that look like they're life-threatening, so the body's being sent off for an autopsy." Cpl. Rice said.
