CLARK COUNTY, WA (KPTV) -
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in finding a 27-year-old man who went missing while camping over the weekend.

Deputies said Vadim Mukhin was last seen in Washington state’s Larch Mountain area Saturday. He was camping with friends in the Sunset Falls campground.

The sheriff’s office said he had been drinking with a friend when he wandered away from the group. Mukhin has not been seen since.

Search and rescue volunteers are searching the area for him.

I hope he is found safe. I saw his sister posting on some local fb groups and it breaks my heart. There is so much forest land in the area, he could have gotten lost or injured rather easily IMO. It's cold here now too so that is rather alarming as well.

His jacket and pants being found is very concerning.

Snipped from link at post #6 above...
...According to the sheriff’s office, Mukhin and several friends gathered at the Sunset Falls campground to go off-roading in the nearby hills. After a day of that, they went back to the campground for a break. Around 6 p.m., they all went back out again, except for Mukhin who stayed behind. That was apparently the last time he was seen.

Some told the sheriff's department Mukhin had been drinking heavily. The camp site is along the East Fork of the Lewis River.

Family continues search for Gresham man missing in Clark County

The family of a missing camper is not giving up after the search for him was suspended.

For more than a week, his loved ones have been searching but have only found his jeans and jacket.

Gresham man Vadim Mukhin, known as JR, was camping with friends and family near Larch Mountain on Dec. 30 when he walked off to get better cell service and never returned.

Now search and rescue is suspended, but Mukhin’s family is continuing on.

Walked away for better cell reception and the searchers find his pants??? What in the world can that be? Odd.

Anywhere from 20-50% of victims of hypothermia engage in "paradoxical undressing." You start feeling overheated and take off your clothes to compensate.

Sometimes people will engage in terminal burrowing afterward. If the coat was in the river, it might not help with his final location, but if his clothes were found together, he's probably not too far away if it was paradoxical undressing.

Agreed but I wonder how intoxicated he was. If drugs were involved I am 100% am board. It just seems odd that only the pants were found there and jacket was in the river, where are his shoes. They should be located around there too, no? Yet, they were not found there that I can see. Unless they were were very wide leg pants or shorts perhaps.

Can anyone give me an exact location where clothing was found? I hike that area regularly and know it well.

Ive only heard clothing was found about 3 miles from camp, but not if it was up or down river. I know the area well and will go search as soon as I can get that info. Only just finding out about this from a youtuber who covers park disappearances, or would have been apart of initial search efforts.

Is it possible he was suffering from hypothermia and started taking his clothes off because he was hot?

I haven't seen detailed information posted. The official page seems to be on a site that can't be named here, and I think you may have posted the same question there. I'd be interested in hearing whether it's up river or down river as well.

Oh no. May he rest in peace. Prayers for family & friends
