Circumstances - The missing person was last seen at her residence on Palmer Creek Road (southwest of Healdsburg) during the morning. When her two children returned from school in the afternoon, they found no sign of her. Her identification, vehicle and purse had been left at the rural home, and her family and friends have not had any contact with her since.

It seems odd that there has not been more comment on the possibility of Joseph Naso being responsible. He was convicted for the murder of 4 victims with alliterative names and when his home was searched they found a list referring to 10 victims with locations. One location was 'near Heldsburg' (his spelling). And he was living in North California at the time and working in Berkeley. He may have been eliminated but I cannot find anything to confirm he has been.

He was convicted for the murder of four victims: Roxene Roggasch, Carmen Colon, Pamela Parsons and Tracy Tafoya. Roggasch was murdered in 1977, Colon in 1978, then Parsons in 1993 and Tafoya in 1994. I dont know if he was incarcerated but there is a big span between Colon´s murder and Parson´s (15 years!). Maybe Cheryl Carter and others are Naso´s victims too. Cheryl murdered in 1982 and we should check others from the eighties.

Details of Disappearance
Carter was last seen on September 7, 1982 at her home on Palmer Creek Road southwest of Healdsburg in Sonoma County, California. Her two young children went to school that day, and when they returned home, their mother was gone. She has never been heard from again.

The serial rapist and killer Joseph Naso was investigated for possible involvement in Carter's disappearance. When he was arrested in 2010, authorities learned he kept a handwritten list of ten unnamed women and geographical locations. The first item was "Girl near Healdsburg Mendocino Co." This roughly corresponds with Carter's disappearance.

Some of the items on the list corresponded with some of Naso's known victims, but not all of the women he referred to on the list had been murdered; some of them turned out to be still alive. Naso was ultimately convicted of four murders and sentenced to death, but it's unclear whether he was involved in Carter's case.

Her disappearance remains unsolved.
