This guy is 35? He looks a lot older. Adding another photo. It seems MSM posted the right photo.

Justin Lee Holt, 35, has not been seen since Jan. 3 in the area of Bayne and Maple Island roads in Muskegon County. Authorities said it is believed that Holt was at his Cedar Creek Township home after that.

I hope they have searched his house and premises thoroughly. He lives alone and friends reported him missing. I don't see a mention of family (other than the ex-wife and minor children), so I wonder whether anyone has felt comfortable going through the house.

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. -- A number of questions surround Justin Holt's disappearance. The 35-year-old's brother said he last talked to him Wednesday, just before midnight. Family and friends formed a search party Monday afternoon outside his rural home in the Twin Lakes area.

“We don’t know where he’s gone. All his accounts… nothing’s happened on ‘em. His phone’s been shut off. He is missing,” Patrick Platt, Holt's stepfather told FOX 17.
Holt’s family and friends said it’s not like him to take off and not tell anyone. His only vehicle is still parked on the street. Loved ones said they've previously searched the property but found no clue of his whereabouts.
An apparent threat fuels their concerns. On Tuesday, Holt posted on Facebook that his ex-wife's boyfriend threatened to fly to Michigan from Louisiana to kill him, although he didn’t appear to take it too seriously. Family said Holt is in a heated custody battle over their five minor children.

Also this, which doesn't sound good:

Before Monday's search could even start, we spotted a red substance on the street. It was possibly droplets of blood, and it was once covered by fresh snow.

"Forensics would let you know," Platt said.

The Platts called police who they say already looked around the perimeter of the home. A Muskegon County deputy, a detective and a Michigan state trooper showed up to take a look. As this investigation takes off, Holt's loved ones hope he will be found safe.

BBM

At 6:49 pm, so less than six hours his brother last spoke to him, Justin left this post, in which, among other things, he says:

“[His ex-wife’s] boyfriend told me over the phone that he was going to fly up here and kill me! I dont think I have ever been so scared in my life!!!

[...]

I think i might need to see a counselor now for all of the abusive trauma.... That is if I am still alive after tomorrow. LMAO“ (BBM)

Despite intensive searches, including of a lake, a Muskegon County last seen Jan. 3 remains missing.

Justin Lee Holt, 35, was last seen near Bayne and Maple Island roads, though it's believed he since was at his home in Cedar Creek Township, according to the office of Muskegon County Sheriff Michael Poulin.

A "red substance" was found on Holt's driveway at his home on 10th Street, and it has been sent for analysis, Poulin said.

Search efforts to date include a K9 search, searches in and around Clear Lake and ground searches, Poulin said. Additional ground searches are planned next week, and a Michigan State Police helicopter is expected to join the effort when one becomes available, he said.

Holt's cell phone last "pinged" near his home the night he disappeared, but has since lost battery life or been turned off, Poulin said.

The K9 search was conducted on Jan. 10, Poulin said. After family members found a set of footprints in the snow leading to Clear Lake, the Egelston Township Fire Department's hovercraft was used to explore the lake's frozen surface Jan. 11, and a hole in the ice as found, Poulin said.

Divers and side-scan sonar were then used to search the lake, located near Ryerson and Holton Duck Lake roads, on Thursday, Jan. 18, but nothing was found, Poulin said.

Following... I am about 2 hours away but have spent time in Muskegon in past years.
First thought is the Threat made and I hope LE are looking into the footsteps and digital tracking of the ex-wife's Boyfriend and any of his friends. That would be sort of creepy that he is able to name the culprit on SM, providing something did happen to him.
SECOND thought--I have just finished reading up on a few cases here and 2 of the Missing persons were found INSIDE their homes...YES,even AFTER property searches...which I believe someone in a post above questioned this "property" search..was it just around the house OR around AND inside the house...
I would like to know...Just thinking out loud here

ETA- footprints to lake and hole in ice doesn't sound good...hopefully they can search water thoroughly

His house backs up to Clear Lake. Unfortunately, I think they'll eventually find his body in the lake. MOO, and I hope I'm wrong.

Family and friends have set up a missing page: https://www.facebook.com/Bring-just-in-home-143758416286584/

They have come to the conclusion that Justin disappeared due to foul play.

My speculation and thoughts only: I'm holding out hope that the "red spots" in the snow in the driveway were blood [see MSM link above] and that Justin was able to wound an abductor, so it's not his blood. They're searching the lake behind his house, but in an area about 1/2 - 1 mile away by road, depending on the route. He may have been forced into a vehicle before perhaps being taken out to the lake.

Still hoping for the best.

Gah. No good feelings about this case whatsoever. Rather interesting timing, his post regarding the threat...and then possible blood, footprints, hole in ice...did they mention if it was just one set of footprints? That would be key, IMO, if related (which I imagine they are).

This doesn't sound very hopeful, does it. Was he attacked and ran off towards and onto the frozen lake and fell through the ice?

Like already said above, I hope LE is checking the ex's boyfriend's alibi/whereabouts on the night of Jan 3.

I'll post a map later on. From the media reports, it sounds as though the area of the lake they are searching is on the far end of the lake from where his house is, and they were searching there because the footprints were there as well as the hole in the ice. Based on that and the potential (as yet unconfirmed) blood drops in the snow at the end of driveway, I suspect he was forced into a vehicle and driven to the far end of the lake, then dragged / carried onto the lake.

It's not a big difference in terms of walking distance, but if Justin were incapacitated (I suspect he was), it would be an easier route to carry / drag someone.

It would also be easier as a two-person operation.

Popping in to check for updates!! Seems nothing new :(
