Found at 8am this morning. Interestingly they are working two crime scenes. So many reported missing in Houston area and so many not reported I’m sure. Hopefully this is solved soon.

from Tbone's link:

Police say the body was discovered at the golf course equipment barn Wednesday morning, but after re-tracing their steps, it was discovered the body had initially been at the storage facility about 4 miles away.

According to officials, the body was badly decomposed. Police believe the body is of an older person, but they cannot identify whether it is a man or woman's.

I wonder if any of these could be linked to the 4 yr old boy found in Galveston Bay who is unidentified and no one has reported him missing?

JMO, but I doubt it is related. There are very many missing people from the nearby greater Houston Area. I just looked through our threads for recent missing and counted over 20 Houston area threads-- and that is only the past 2 years. :(

Since they said they think this was an older adult, here are some threads of missing possible middle age or older adults:

Has the person been identified? Looking for an update. I'm local, and I haven't seen any updates in the news.

I wonder how LE was able to trace the body back to the storage unit.

I wonder if the body had been stored inside some larger piece of equipment that got hauled to the golf course?
Maybe something that they use infrequently or only seasonally that gets stored otherwise.
I am looking for any updates but am finding nothing so far.
I wonder if this could possibly be Michael Chambers?

That would be a very long way to move a body. Hopefully it will be identified soon.

It's about 4.5 hours away from Quinlan. It does seem like a long way, but perhaps that is what the killer(s) had available to them for a hiding spot.
Truthfully, the farther away to hide a body seems like it might delay it being found, no?
I have some digging to do now...

Does MC have anyone we know about down that way? Good luck!

MC does have atleast one family member living towards the coast.

I keep trying to think of what seasonal equipment the golf course would have needed now but hasn’t needed in months. I can’t come up with anything. I know it has to be something that they store and don’t use often.

Do we know for sure that the storage unit is owned by the golf course and not a patron of the golf course?

Didn't Terry Rasmussen spend time in La Porte?

[h=1]Human remains found in La Porte storage unit identified[/h]
According to La Porte PD, the remains were those of 54-year-old Shannon Lance Ivey. Police say Ivey was a part-time resident of La Porte and spent the majority of his time working overseas.
Investigators say "all indications are that Ivey's death was the result of a 2016 domestic dispute." Ivey's remains had originally been stored in a leased storage locker by the suspect, according to police.
The suspect recently passed away, causing the storage unit rent to become delinquent and lead to the discovery of Ivey's remains.

It is not known how long Ivey's body was held at the storage facility before being moved to the golf course, and due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, police are not currently releasing information regarding why or how the remains were transported to Bay Forest.

"We are not currently releasing any information on the suspect," said Assistant Police Chief Steve Deardorff. "There are no other suspects at this time, but we're looking to make sure there isn't more than one person involved."
There was no missing person's report on file for Ivey.
