Local authorities are searching for a 24-year-old man who was reported missing by his family on Sunday and whose vehicle was found in College Station on Wednesday afternoon.

A Facebook post seeking information on Randy Robyler has been shared more than 11,000 times. The post states that Roblyer has a serious medical condition and was last seen Sunday afternoon after he finished his shift at work in College Station.

Bryan police spokeswoman Officer Kelley McKethan confirmed authorities are looking for Roblyer, but because he is neither a child nor elderly, no Amber Alert or Silver Alert can be issued. Roblyer's name has been entered in Bryan police's missing person's database.

Just after 3 p.m., College Station officers located Robyler's truck off of William D. Fitch Parkway near Carter Creek. Authorities were using drones, a Department of Public Safety helicopter and dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on Wednesday night to search the woods near where the truck was found. According to Lt. Craig Anderson of the College Station Police Department, as of 8:30 p.m., authorities had found no sign of Robyler.

Did anyone check to see if his truck started up? I’m wondering if its dead and someone offered him a ride? Possibly a co-worker? Does he have a cell phone that can be pinged? What time did his shift end? What is his medical condition? (If appropriate to share.)

The following message is from Kathy Roblyer, his mother: UPDATE 1/11/2018 at 10:00 PM:

During the past 36 hours, agents from several law enforcement agencies in Bryan-College Station and other areas have assisted in the search effort

Randy’s car was found under an overpass on William D. Fitch Parkway in the sand beside a creek. Searches were conducted on foot and with drone, helicopter, and dog team.

Private property owners were generous in their permissions for law enforcement agents conducting the search. Friends and family members have been sifting through information and belongings for any clues to aid the investigative team. Members of the community have reported sightings which have been followed up by police.

However, Randy is still missing. This gives us hope that he may still be alive, even though he sounded ill and disoriented on the phone Sunday afternoon, right before he disappeared. Family and friends have reason to believe that if he is well enough to travel, Randy may be trying to get to Colorado. We continue to wait, pray, and trust the experts who are working on the case.

We have reason to believe that if Randy is well enough to travel, he may be trying to go to Colorado, though some have suggested he might be going to Houston.

UPDATE 1/13/2018 at 11 a.m.:

Randy is still missing and we have nothing new to report. The Bryan Police Department is still working on the case and all leads reported to us have been passed along to them. We will update this when we know something more. Thank you for your concern.

Over the past five days, the nature of the investigation has understandably changed. Action was swift and intense initially, because everyone believed Randy’s disappearance to be related to a life-threatening medical emergency. Now five days have passed, his truck has been located, but he has not been found. The authorities are continuing with a systematic investigation. We, Randy’s family and friends, are struggling to understand what this means. He could have succumbed to the medical condition, but not yet been located or he could have survived it and traveled somewhere else. We are hoping and praying that he has survived.

In talking with his friends and family members during the past five days, we learned that he had spoken to several people recently about wanting to take a vacation in Colorado. He loves the state, loves being in the mountains, and has some good friends there. However, we have also considered that he might have gone toward Houston, since the last electronic signal from the cell phone was in Grimes County on Sunday afternoon.
