North Carolina mother who got text messages telling her that her daughter is dead has not been able to find the missing woman in South Carolina.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports that Horry County authorities have told Crystal Evans that they don't have any deaths reported of anyone matching the description of 30-year-old Tiffany Dawn Evans.

The Myrtle Beach Police said they hadn't recently picked her up. She was known to them because of arrests for prostitution and drug use

Crystal Evans got the phone calls from strangers Thursday and then drove Friday from her North Carolina home. She met with police, who are searching for Tiffany.

Evans last spoke with her daughter on Jan. 7. Since then, several people have texted her that Tiffany died of an overdose.

Evans last spoke with her daughter on Jan. 7, when she asked for gas money so she could come home.

"She sounded like she really wanted to come home. It was more believable this time than any other time to me," Crystal Evans said. "It was like 'mama, I need to leave, I'm going crazy down here. I can't take it anymore, I need to come home.'"

Tiffany Evans said she would leave Myrtle Beach by Monday, but her mother never heard from her again.

"The guy she was supposedly coming with texted me and said that he tried to get her to leave Myrtle Beach on Wednesday," Crystal Evans said. "He texted me he tried to get her to leave but she wouldn't go. Then the very next day he said she had overdosed and passed away."
Crystal Evans said more people then came forward with similar stories about an overdose death.

If you have ever loved an addict, you have known the lies of addiction. Anything to squeeze hope out of you for a few bucks and a promise. There was an OD recently where the loved one sent money and it paid for the drugs that induced death. So very sad for those who love addicts, if it was me...I think it would be easier to know they were incarcerated or in heaven.
prayers to the loved ones.

My daughter works at a convience store that Tiffany usually frequents. I used to see her at least once a day in the area. Rumors are flying in the homeless community. Tiffany is very well known in this area and is definitely easy to spot.

How sad her mother and family are almost waiting a death notification...

Very sad. The homeless community is greatly concerned because half are sure she's alive and half believe the story that she's deceased.

Such good news I had to post the headline:

Another article saying she was found safe with a better picture of Tiffany:

I hope she sees this as another chance and cleans up her life now. Bless her poor mom for all she has been through worrying about Tiffany.
I hope she doesn't give up on her.

Thank goodness! Glad all of those horrible rumors were just rumors. Happy day for her family!
