NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Human remains have been found close to Interstate 24 near Murfreesboro Pike.

Reports stated the remains were found around midnight, early Friday morning, near a Waffle House at Exit 52 on I-24.

Authorities said the remains were bones. Police said they were found by a homeless person.

A number of lodgings along the highway there, a car wash, not far from airport (?). Chance of it being related to prostitution likely?

Well, once we get more specifics, we can start looking to possibly narrow down some of these:

Thank you for this, creepedout. Wild guesses just going off of location info. From the list you provided
https://tinyurl.com/y8w2clwc , I found it interesting that

"James Oden was last seen by a friend at the Walgreen Store at Charlotte ave and White Bridge Rd. Oden victim got out of the friend's truck and walked away."

That's on the other side of town from where his friend said he dropped him off, so if by any chance it seems like the remains of an older man, then nobody would look for him in the middle of a bunch of highways.

I was wondering when there had been work done on the roads in the area and figuring that the remain's couldn't have been there before 2014 or so.

If it's a female, I can't imagine anyone profiting from the sex trade dumping so close to that area.

A thread for James: https://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?363934-TN-James-Oden-64-Nashville-29-Nov-2014

Since the remains were found by a homeless person I wonder if it is a common spot for the homeless to camp.
There are two recent cases of people being dropped off at the Nashville Rescue Mission and never being seen again after that:

Daniel Greer: https://www.websleuths.com/forums/s...iel-Greer-24-or-25-Hendersonville-26-Dec-2016
Kenneth Milhomme: https://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?363933-TN-Kenneth-Milhomme-55-Nashville-4-May-2015

Distance from the Rescue Mission to the Waffle House near the UID is about 3 miles: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/639...60c576cd7efb812!2m2!1d-86.724389!2d36.1358337

The following case is definitely worth mentioning -

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/35330/

Latisha Milliken was last seen in March 2007. Sadly, she was a 28-year old homeless, crack-addicted prostitute. According to this article, her blood was found in the cab of a serial-killer truck driver:

http://wkrn.com/2008/09/16/suspected-serial-killer-may-be-linked-to-missing-woman/

She was reported missing the same day another victim's body was found in Nashville. She apparently was last known to live a tent city somewhere near downtown.

This brings back memories of "The Killing Season". Just sickening to think about.

Yikes! Didn't know that detail about the blood being found. I just made a thread for her earlier today:

Please add that info to her thread. It was not in her NaMus profile.

ME/C Case Number: 18-0275
Davidson County, Tennessee
___ to ___ year old Male

Estimated Age: Adult - Pre 80
Sex: Male

Estimated postmortem interval: Years
Body Condition: Not recognizable - Near complete or complete skeleton

Circumstances: On 01/25/2018, skeletal human remains were found by a transient in the area atop a rocky cliff at exit 52 on Interstate 24 eastbound. 911 was contacted at 2236 hours. Metro Nashville Police Officers and Nashville Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed the remains appeared to be human.

GPS coordinates: 36.135504, -86.727453

Clothing and accessories are described below:
Heavily soiled T-shirt (unknown original color) with logo that reads "redefining normal" & "whatever 06"; Black pants; White tube socks with blue stripes; Blue Nike brand button-down jacket; Brown Dickies brand zip-up sweatshirt; Gray Tony Hawk brand zip-up hooded sweatshirt
Clothing with body:

Blue sleeping bag, gray cloth sack

The t-shirt on the left side says something I can't make out student ministry as well was redefining normal whatever 06. I wish we could verify when this shirt was made and where this student ministry was located. May be a donated shirt, but it would be great to verify that. Would also help us in knowing if the 06 represented 2006, or something else entirely to give some time frames, since there isn't really an estimated time frame. Do we need to go back as far as 2006?

We might need to. That Nike Jacket may be quite old as well based on the logo design: http://1000logos.net/nike-logo/
According to the above link, Nike started using the NIKE over the Swoosh logo in 1978 and changed to just the Swoosh without the word "NIKE" in 1995. So that jacket might have been made in the 90's and still worn by someone in the 2000's based on the t-shirt that seems to say 2006. Or these are all really old items the UID got from a thrift shop or given to him for free at a shelter.

I think the "Whatevers" is a reference to this bible verse: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+4:8&version=NIV

And possibly the "Redefining Normal" is a reference to this book: https://youthministry360.com/products/redefining-normal

The book was published in 2004: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/le...ing-normal-bible-study-chad-norris/1006089116
So it could have been used by any church as a guide for their student ministry program. Wish we could see the rest of the words on the shirt where ti says "Student Ministry".

Just adding to my above thoughts-- the 2006 reference on the shirt might not be the year the shirt was put out. It might be the year the student was supposed to graduate from high school in the future. Student ministries might do this if it was a program only for one age group (i.e All freshmen in HS or All Seniors in HS). So it could mean "class of 2006" and the wearer could have gotten it before 2006.

I'm going to look for cases between 2004 and 2006.

seems the UID died in winter w all of those layers.

Looking at the clothing description again and something just occurred to me-- Did they not find any shoes?!?
