A 33-year-old woman's body was found in an alley near the Scottsdale bar district earlier this week. Police identified her as Loring Sendejas. Her body was found in an alley near Saddlebag Trail and Camelback Road on Monday. A friend said she last saw Sendejas at a Super Bowl party around 9 p.m. Sunday. Calhoun went home, while Sendejas went to meet up with some friends in Old Town Scottsdale.

A death investigation was ongoing.

wow, this is not the kind of neighborhood where you find bodies. I live right here and have not heard of this story.

From what little has been reported, I fear this may have been an OD but have zero evidence or speculation to base this on. Very sad, she sounds like quite a woman!

An arrest has been made in her death, though the cause of death has not been released (they did confirm no trauma to the body that would result in death). She had been sexually assaulted by a man with a white Range Rover with whom she had been seen earlier in the evening. Through video of the vehicle and her phone having pinged from his home, they were able to locate and arrest him. Fentanyl was found in her system. That's a powerful opioid that can easily cause an overdose. Since he was not charged with homicide, intentional or otherwise, only abandonement of the body and the assault, her death was likely an unintentional overdose. What a waste of a beautiful young life. http://www.azfamily.com/story/37988...as-found-dead-in-scottsdale-alley-in-february

Police arrest man accused of raping, killing Loring Sendejas

"An Avondale man has been arrested in connection with the death of 33-year-old Loring Sendejas, whose body was found Feb. 5 in an alley near the Scottsdale Entertainment District.

Police say 51-year-old Vincent Parker was arrested Tuesday after DNA obtained in a sexual assault examination performed on Sendejas was determined to be his.

On April 6, Parker was pulled over after failing to maintain a single lane several times and admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving, records said.

He was arrested and taken to Scottsdale City Jail, police said. A DNA profile later was developed from oral swabs taken from Parker while in custody, which matched the DNA from the swabs collected during Sendejas' autopsy, records said."
