A Fresno man has been reported missing since Valentine’s Day.

Jason Alexander Kump, 34, was last seen near Van Ness and Nevada avenues at around 11 p.m. last week, according to a report from Fresno Police Department.

Kump is reportedly suicidal and possibly armed.
Kump is an engineer for the City of Fresno, according to brother Nate Kump.

There is no information on what he was wearing when he went missing but he could be riding his bike, police said.

Who saw him at 11:00 pm? Which way was he headed? Did they see him with his bike, or is it just missing? And, maybe he lives in that neighborhood near that intersection?

I grew up in Fresno and lived there for 30+ years. The area he was last seen is pretty rough. Lots of transient activity. Lots of vacant homes. Some of the homes have been converted into businesses, like you saw on Google maps.

There is a hip/revitalized area called the Tower District about a mile north from where he was last seen (Van Ness and Olive).

South of the area he was last seen is "downtown", which hasn't been revitalized. It's a mixture of vacant lots, industrial companies and government buildings. Again, a large transient population in this area. There are fewer residential areas south of where he was last seen.

Details of Disappearance
Kump was last seen near Van Ness Avenue and Nevada Avenue in Fresno, California at 11:00 p.m. on February 14, 2018. He was riding his bicycle at the time; a photo of it is posted with this case summary. It's described as a Public V1 model, navy blue in color with chrome accessories, red cable brakes and possibly white racks in front and back. He has never been heard from again and the bike has not been located.

Kump may have been armed at the time of his disappearance. All his belongings, including his phone, wallet and keys, were left behind at home. He worked as an engineer for the city of Fresno in 2018. His case remains unsolved.
