image.jpg

There was no identification found on the adult female who appears to be in her 50's. She had grey hair and was wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans and white running shoes.

The Windsor Police Major Crime Branch continues to investigate the identity of the female and circumstances surrounding her death.

Investigators ask that you review the description of the woman, along with the pictures of her keys and unique watch. Please call with any information.

The U.S. Coast Guard's marine unit recovered a body from the water, closer to Windsor's shore. It happened around noon near Russell Street in Sandwich Town, not far from General Brock Public School.

Police said the body was that of a female in her 50s. She had no identification on her.

The woman is described as white with grey hair, wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans and white running shoes.

I see the woman's watch is described as "unique" but I can't make out the brand. It might provide some clues as to her means and background.

could the #1 on the keychain be her apt.#?

eta: or a motel #?

Thanks. It looks like the brand is Suisse, though I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean that it's a Swiss watch. It's a very clunky, rather dated design that makes me think of the 1960s or 1970s. The word above the number 6 looks like "quartz", which probably dates the watch as apparently quartz watches were introduced in the 1970s.

Zooming in on it, there appears to be lettering on both sides of the "6" which could possibly read "Swiss Made". Ok... it's more likely Japan Mvmt...
Found this "Suisse" watch on etsy…
PS...Just a guess, but the keys look like they are to an apartment and a post office box in the lobby.

Either is possible. We need a clearer photograph of that watch. Is there some way of using Google to find other example of it?

It too has the look of the 1960s or 1970s. There was a distinctive boldness in design generally in those decades that we don't really see these days.

Trying to find an update as to whether or not these people have been identified.
Link from February 20 2018.. wondering if the man survived to give details about the deceased woman?
Two people pulled from Detroit River, one person confirmed deceased
“The complainant saw what they believed was a body in the water. Officers arrived quite quickly and they did locate a male that had been walking along the water’s edge and fell in” says Sgt. Steve Betteridge.

The person was treated by paramedics as a precaution.

But Betteridge tells CTV News they were able to determine there was a second body in the water with the help of that same witness.

The U.S. Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter, but didn’t find anything. About a half an hour later, a boat was sent out and the crew pulled a body from the river about a mile north of the Ambassador Bridge near Joe Louis Arena."
"Police are now working to identify the victim. They are also working to find out how the body ended up in the river and whether foul play was a factor."

ETA, man died, how did they know his age? rbbm.
Man pulled from Detroit River dies in hospital
"The man was quickly transported to hospital in critical condition.

Officers continued to investigate the possibility of another person in the river by searching the riverfront.

The coast guard helicopter also searched the area but both efforts were met with negative results.

On Thursday, the 53-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The Windsor Police Major Crime Branch continues to investigate the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.catchcrooks.com."

I'll search around for more Suisse watches later. But here is the link to the one I found on Etsy...

Adjusted so you can see Japan clearer and what starts with an M, possibly MVMT which is used for movement.
