[h=1]Decapitated body found near remote ammo-filled survivalist bunker in Washington, police say[/h]

The decapitated body of a 26-year-old woman was found Saturday afternoon near a survivalist bunker loaded with guns and ammo in northwest Washington, and police say a person of interest in the case may be heading for California.

Katherine Cunningham's remains were found Saturday on the rural Camano Island, north of Seattle. Near the headless corpse, investigators discovered a bunker dug into a hillside containing supplies, guns and ammo.

Island County Sheriff Mark Brown said Wednesday that police are looking for 34-year-old Jacob Gonzales, who he called a person of interest.

He is believed to be a black-haired, 5-foot-9 Hispanic man with hazel eyes who weighs 150 pounds, according to The Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Authorities say Gonzales is a Hispanic man, approximately 5’9” tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has black hair and hazel eyes. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public not to approach him and believe Gonzales is armed and dangerous.
Gonzales may be heading to central or southern California.

He is no longer believed to be driving a green 1990 Mitsubishi Montero with Washington license plates: AYE2639.

Just some additional info:

A woman who knows Gonzales and Cunningham described them as boyfriend and girlfriend originally from California. The woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the couple lived with her family in an apartment in Stanwood for a brief time about 2 ½ years ago. The couple later moved to a trailer on Camano Island, she said. The woman said Cunningham and Gonzales had met in the military.

The green 1990 Mitsubishi Montero that was believed to have been driven by a person of interest in the murder and decapitation of a woman on Camano Island has been found, authorities said. The Island County Sheriffs office says it is looking for Jacob Gonzales, 34, in a silver compact car with unknown license plates, citing information from various tips.

Update on the vehicle he's believed to be driving:

Deputies on Friday released a brief statement saying they now believe Gonzales may be on his way to the Las Vegas area in a silver 1998 Honda Civic coupe with a Washington state license plate number of BHR7424.

Manhunt Continues for 'Person of Interest' After Beheaded Body was Found Near Survivalist Bunker

From the autopsy findings, the Coroners Office has determined the cause of death as Homicidal Violence with Decapitation,' according to officials.
After delivering several search warrants, officials recovered the body of a white female who had been deceased for several days, officials stated.
Deputies believe the victim was targeted specifically, officials stated.

Gonzales is believed to be armed and we ask that the public not approach him, officials said,

Wonder what the outcome was of the charges against him back then?

"Gonzales was arrested on suspicion of assault with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Gonzales is in custody at the Los Banos Jail in lieu of $110,000 bail."

Gonzales, an air transportation specialist, left the service in April 2014, in the midst of a criminal case where he was convicted of exhibiting gross negligence while shooting a gun at his home in Los Banos, California.

That case began two years earlier, in September 2012, when a SWAT team responded to reports of shots fired in his neighborhood. Police arrived to see muzzle flashes, and thought the gunman was shooting at them, according to the local newspaper, the Los Banos Enterprise. Gonzales was arrested when police saw him walking from the home. He was handed a 13-day sentence in May 2014, and banned from owning guns, according to court records in Merced County.

This is a friend of the family and Jacob (piece of crap) is no longer in the Washington area he has been spotted in the Los banos area so anyone that is in that area please let the local pd know immediately. And I might add he is not Hispanic he is Indian.

A $1 million warrant has been issued for his arrest. Gonzales is now charged with five counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of auto theft. The arrest warrant is on those charges, but he officially remains a person of interest in the Cunningham case.

Authorities say Gonzales is a Hispanic man.

The sheriff's office office on Friday believed Gonzales was headed to Las Vegas.

Judging by the pages he liked on his FB (Native American Land, Keep Indigenous Culture Alive), it seems to me he is not Hispanic. Either LE is not up-to-date or he is a Hispanic with interest in Native American culture.

Arrest warrant for Jacob is not for murder of Katherine, and he is named as POI but not suspect. Warrant info:
Motor vehicle theft
Unlawful possession of firearm
$1 million bail attached

Cut across neck, body was bloodless
Bunker was secondary crime scene; body was moved there
There were 12 empty sandbags laid like a trail between body (in sleeping bag/tarp) and bunker
Blood and clumps of hair found in a trailer
Search warrant listed "missing portions of anatomy" - inferring that her head may not be located yet.
LE think Jacob may be headed to Las Vegas.

ETA - Haven't been following closely before; I see not much of this is new info.
