Georgia Tech student missing
21-year-old Daniel J. Compton
No one has seen him since February 17, 2006
Last seen at Moondogs, at 3179 Peachtree Road in Buckhead (Atlanta, GA)

The Atlanta Police Department said in a release that "no foul play is suspected" in Daniel Compton's disappearance, but asks for the public's help in locating him.

Please help spread the word.

This is local to me and this morning is the 1st time I heard of this on the radio :(
He has been missing for 10 days.

Local here, too. I know that area, as well.

I thought of a young co-worker I had a few years back who was out with his wife and brother and sister-in-law one night in Buckhead. At a stoplight some guys thumped on his hood, and he made the mistake of saying something. He came in to work the next Monday beaten 7 ways to Sunday. He and his brother both were hospitalized... yet the assault never made the news, here. This kid, Daniel, is only 5'8" and very slight, 120 lbs. If he was caught out in the wrong place at the wrong time in the dark around a Buckhead-area bar, the supposedly high-toned location would have made no difference. Then again, Daniel did just have a break-up in the news story I read. I know I had one of those in college that nearly made me disappear. Here's praying that's all he did, for a bit.

Is there a river that runs through Alanta? Because this seems to similiar to the other stories.

Last seen in a bar.
Connected to a college.
No one sees anything.
And usually there is a river nearby.

This guy seems to think that it is just happening in one area, but it isn't. It seems to be the central and eastern part of the country.

Here are a few shots of this area, I thought there was water around this area, but I can't seem to find any with a quick look and save of these pics. Google Earth and Randmcnally are great if I had time to really look, but in this pics I don't see water too close by....there is water out from where he disappeared from.

Missing Tech student's body found
Foul play not suspected in death

By S.A. Reid
A 21-year-old Georgia Tech student who had been missing for two weeks was found dead Saturday in Lamar County.

Authorities identified a body found in a car on a rural road in northern Lamar as that of Daniel J. Compton.
The Lamar Sheriff's Department and Atlanta police are awaiting word on a cause of death from the Lamar County Coroner's Office, but authorities do not suspect foul play in his death.
