Louis Richie Cadden, 31, was the victim of the March 6 homicide at 6966 Parkers Ferry Road, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has arrested five people in connection with Cadden's death.

Deputies were called to the home March 15 after someone alerted law enforcement, according to documents released by law enforcement. They found charred bones in a burn pile behind the home.

Patrick Lee Gregory, 28, and his girlfriend, Sarah Suzan Kelley, 30, were arrested later that day as they drove through Berkeley County, authorities said.

Jean said police had visited the house where the incident happened several times in the past. Other than those visits, she said police activity in their area is rare.

"We're not used to this kind of thing going on in our community," Jean said. "I would just like for it to be like it was before."

Detectives said multiple witnesses came forward claiming Gregory said he killed the victim, "further stating the body would never be found," according to an affidavit.

Affidavits allege Gregory shot the victim, dumped the body and then burned the corpse at the Parkers Ferry Road property.

Detectives also say Kelley confessed to "having knowledge of the murder and assisted with driving the vehicle and moving the body to the rear of the property where it was disposed and later burned."
