More information. And she is still on the run.

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The missing wife of a man who was shot dead at their southeastern Minnesota house last week has been charged with theft in connection with several suspicious bank transactions that drew $11,000 from her husband’s bank account.

In the meantime, 56-year-old Lois A. Riess has yet to be located, nor has the family’s Escalade.

The body of David Riess, 54, of rural Blooming Prairie, was found on the farm property on March 23, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). He died of multiple gunshot wounds on March 21.

Lois Riess was charged Wednesday with felony theft, and a nationwide warrant was issued for her arrest.

According to the criminal complaint:

A bank notified a sheriff’s investigator on Monday that Lois Riess deposited two checks totaling nearly $10,000 from the farm’s business account into her husband’s personal account, which should not have happened, the charging document read.

Lois Riess then brought in checks made out to her from her husband’s personal account totaling $11,000. The bank reviewed the signatures on the checks and determined that they didn’t match David Riess signature card on file.

The bank also told the investigator that Lois Riess used her husband’s debit card over the weekend of March 23-25.

The BCA has said Lois Riess is being sought as a person of interest in the case. Authorities said she is probably armed with a weapon. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 but is warned not to approach her. Authorities said she likes to frequent casinos.

Riess is described as white, 5 foot 5 and 165 pounds with brown eyes and blond hair, which is now lighter than in the photo authorities have circulated over social media and through news outlets.

The Sheriff’s Office is also trying to find a family vehicle: a white 2005 Cadillac Escalade, with Minnesota license plate 864 LAE.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Riess or the vehicle is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 1-507-635-6200.

**UPDATE (12:35PM)** -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office says a Minnesota fugitive wanted for the murder of her husband is also responsible for a murder in Fort Myers Beach this week.

Lee County Undersheriff Carmine Marceno said in a press conference Friday that they believe that Lois Reiss has since fled Southwest Florida to the Corpus Christi area.

A national manhunt is under way for Reiss, who is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Marceno says Reiss befriended 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson and targeted her due to their similar appearance.

Investigators say Reiss murdered Hutchinson in her Marina Village condo Monday, then took her ID and car and fled Southwest Florida in Hutchinson's white 2005 Acura TL with a Florida license plate Y37-TAA.

Reiss is believed to have traveled through the Gulf coast to Corpus Cristi, Texas, but her current whereabouts are unknown.

Reiss is wanted for Murder and Grand Theft.

According to FOX 47 in Rochester, Minnesota, Reiss is facing second degree murder charges there after shooting her husband to death back in March.

According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Reiss’ car was found abandoned in Florida earlier this week and she remains at large.

Law enforcement also believe she stole over $20,000 from her deceased husband's business.

Good use of the term "allegedly" in thread title. WS could use more of this.

How so? In the month or so you’ve been here, have ya noticed a lot of “blamey” thread titles? Or do ya think “allegedly” especially relevant to this thread? Just curious.

My husband said, "Well, if she kills one more she is a serial killer." Yeah, we both watch too much ID channel. Also, if she did kill the woman in Florida, she could get the death penalty. If she kills in Texas, she may actually BE executed. I don't think she will be taken alive, though.

I just really wonder what her end game is. Mexico? She has grown children and grandchildren. What could she possibly be thinking? I feel certain she's changed her appearance and, at this point, it seems she's more than willing to do whatever necessary to stay on the run.

She's definitely running out of options, I would think. I'm curious if she has any connections to Mexico. She probably has changed her appearance, especially if she is going to try to stay in the US.

Where is more likely for her to go, a big city where she might try to blend in or a small town far from where anyone would expect her to be, where nobody has heard about the crimes...
