37 YEARS LATER, NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO ALMA LOUISE “WEEZIE” O’CON

https://www.shreveportnews.com/news/alma-louise-weezie-ocon/

And cold is how the case has stayed for the last 37 years. Several online groups who search for missing persons have tried to locate O’Con, or at least gather more details about her disappearance, but have so far been unsuccessful in discovering anything that wasn’t in the initial police report.

But, there is another organization that ensures that Alma Louise O’Con and another 392 missing and/or unidentified people in Louisiana are not forgotten, The LSU FACES Laboratory in Baton Rouge. FACES serves as a repository for all information about missing and unidentified people in the state.

In June of 1981 a woman went missing from a VA hospital in Shreveport. Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martinville Sheriff's department says they are looking into the possibility of that being the unknown female that's buried in Breaux Bridge. Pellerin says that if they do find family members, they will hold another funeral.

A very intriguing missing persons case. There is not much extra information to find, other then the content of all the above files posted. Nothing about her army experiences, where was she in combat before she was admitted to the hospital (PTSS?), she was a vet, so served the country, was she suicidal? Maybe she jumped, fell or was thrown in the Red River. Very near the hospital grounds. Also there is the Veteran Park. Near the hospital and boundering the shores of the Red River. Silly question but was the milk glass found/left behind, taken with her....it sounds so strange all together. Was there a search conducted when she went missing. Nothing in the news? What was the family thinking about all of this? What was the reason they came every evening and not on this day? Could that have triggered something of a lost feeling in her? Did they have CC-TV footage....I think the guard must have had screens to look if everybody was safe. Were there other patients she had contact with, shared experiences, was she in a therapy group....etc. Somehow I have the feeling this pretty woman is let down and the hospital wanted to keep there sleeves clean.

Someone in their killed her and the hospital stated her as missing as a coverup. Too many cases on here where someone "unexplainably" disappears from a group home or facility.

Yes, maybe. We have them in The Netherlands too, IIRR two of them turned up to be murdered by an other patient, years later, and buried near of on the psychiatric hospital ground. Some just disappeared into thin air and were never found, until this day.

This Jane Doe killed by serial killer Samuel Little in New Orleans in 1982 reminds me of Alma.

You posted this drawing in the link. I doubt some confessions made by Little, but in this particular case his confession seems to match up with a Jane Doe found.

I'm not totally sure, but is this the Jane Doe mentioned by Little? Do you know?

Both the drawing and the recon have green eyes, but it's no actually known what eye color the Jane Doe found had.

Looked at Alma's pictures. In both clear pictures there is "something going on" with her left eye when she smiles. As if the eye is more pointed and the eye lid thicker. Could it be some kind of scar?

The nickname "Weezie" ? Maybe she went with her second name Louise and they corrupted it to Weezie? Other thoughts?

And definitely, I would like to see a picture of her where she shows her teeth. Could it be they were crooked and she didn't want to show them when a picture was made.

There must be people/fellow vets who served the country with her. I hope one day they show up here.
