ISLETON, Calif. (KCRA) — A body was found in the Mokelumne River by a fisherman in the delta city of Isleton Sunday morning, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 9:30 a.m., an officer said a 911 caller told them that they saw a fisherman pulling a bag from the water off Brannan Island Road, near the Lighthouse Bar and Grill.
Investigators discovered human remains inside the bag, officers said.

Divers from the Drowning Accident Response Team (DART) assisted homicide detectives at the scene to search for additional evidence.
It's unclear if the body is a male or a female. The identity and cause of death will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner.

The department said it does not yet have any information on the age, race or sex of the victim in the case or many other details.
"There's a lot we don't know yet and stuff we can't release" because of the ongoing investigation, Hampton said.
While there is little information thus far regarding the remains, Hampton reports they were in different stages of decomposition.
