Wardell was her married name. She married Charles Ray Wardell in Harris, Texas on 24/8/1968 and a daughter (Cynthia) was born on 4/5/1969. Her daughter is looking for her (see Missing Adults ). The marriage comes from a record on Ancestry. Ancestry also has the divorce record in January 1973, followed by the husband remarrying shortly after the divorce.

Details of Disappearance

Thomas-Wardell was last seen in Houston, Texas on July 17, 1970, two days before her eighteenth birthday. She was was attending Durham Business College downtown and was last seen at the bus stop on the corner of Bennington and Hirsch Road, on her way home from her day's classes. She never arrived at her residence in the 4100 block of Corio and has never been heard from again.

Thomas-Wardell left behind a baby daughter, who was a year old at the time of her disappearance. She worked at a discount store, and never picked up her last paycheck; it was eventually claimed by her husband. It's uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning and her case remains unsolved.

The information in Charley Project and NamUs is contradictory: while Charley Project says "She was was attending Durham Business College downtown and was last seen at the bus stop on the corner of Bennington and Hirsch Road, on her way home from her day's classes". NamUs indicates "The MP left home on 07/27/1970 to catch a bus to attend a class near downtown Houston. The MP was not seen or heard from since then".
I don't uderstand... Did she attend her classes or not? I think that would have been easy to investigate, I mean, her professor and other students could recall if they saw her or not...
