[h=1]Investigation sheds light on human remains discovered in Southeast Bexar County[/h]
Gonzalez says on April 30th of last year a stranded motorist waiting for a ride along the 8400 block of South W.W. White Rd. noticed a foul smell.

After walking around a wooded area a man discovered a decomposing body in a ditch.
"The body was so badly decomposed they were unable to tell if it was a male or a female, " Gonzalez went on to say.
After the remains were discovered they were sent to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
Gonzalez says the remains were then sent to the University of North Texas Health Science Center Human ID lab.

The lab has experience dealing with bones or skeletal remains. "Unfortunately UNT gave us information back that they were not able to identify the body."

However, Gonzalez said investigators were able to determine the remains belong to a small female who may be in her teens or even 20 years old.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has reached out to a forensic artist to reconstruct a three dimensional face of the victim.

"Using the skull and layering clay to develop what this person may have looked like, they also rely on other professionals like anthropologist."

Gonzalez says this case is being treated as a homicide investigation. Deputies are hoping to have a composite of the victim's face within the next couple of months.

Deputies are asking for the public's help identifying a body they found a year ago on the Southeast Side of Bexar County.
The woman is "small statured" and believed to be between 14 and 20 years old. A forensic artist drew what she likely looked like.

Anyone with information on who the woman might be is asked to call 210-335-6000 or 210-335-6070.

I came across the case of Ava Grace Baldwin and her photo today and I had instant chills as I remembered this remains being found in the same county as she is missing from and their both uncanny resemblance.

I know it is not probably her as she was only 9 years old when she went missing on September 2015 and remains are estimated to be at least 14. Remains were though skeletal and estimated to be there for some time.

Ava is apparently missing in parental abduction by her mother, however mother's family set up FB page looking for both of them as they have not heard from either of them.

Just to add, Ava was not only from Bexter County but also from San Antonio where this remains were found...

No, as I am not good with submitting. Also I am not sure if this is strong match. But if anyone feels its fine, please go ahead with submitting and keep us updated. Thank you.

PS: There was phone number attached in news clipping with this case, so someone can also call it in to:

I wish we knew if the estimated age was based solely on the estimated height or some other factors? My 9 year old granddaughter is 5'3 (with beautiful long legs I wish I had). That makes me think her age could be younger than 14. Another thing I noticed is that there is no mention of clothing. The Namus file doesn't reflect any clothing found with the body NOR does it indicate that "No clothing or accessories". Lack of detail is frustrating!

A murder victim has been identified following the release a sketch last week.

A news release from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office states Bonny Simmons was positively identified through dental records.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office released a sketch last week of what appeared to be a young girl whose body was found in a ditch more than a year ago. According to a post on the agency's Facebook page, the body of a small female, believed to be between the ages of 14 and 20, was found by a passerby along South W.W. White Road on April 30, 2017. At the time, very little information was released.
