A lead investigator with the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office said he could not say whether foul play was suspected after a body was discovered Saturday morning in the median of U.S. Highway 2.

“We’re still waiting to get a lot more information before I can tell you more than I can right now,” investigator Jake Lane said. “At this point, there is no suspected danger to the public.”

Lane said the North Dakota Highway Patrol first alerted him to the body about 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The body was found just outside Grand Forks west of Wal-Mart, he said.

The body was confirmed as male but no ID was found and no other details have been released. The body was sent for an autopsy. More details will possibly be released by Monday morning, April 23rd.

The deceased male has been identified as 36-year-old Casey Myron Weekley of Grand Forks.
