[h=3]$20K Reward Offered After 3 Antelope Valley Friends Go Missing Under Suspicious Circumstances[/h]
California -- Authorities are seeking the public's help in locating three people from the Antelope Valley community of Littlerock who have been missing for months, officials said Saturday.

Jose Lara Paez, Cuauhtemoc Lara and Julieta Arvizu all disappeared in January under suspicious circumstances, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

Lara, 39, and Arvizu, 49, lived together in Littlerock, while 66-year-old Paez stayed at their home but was not a resident there, according to the Sheriff's Department.

They were reported missing by family members on various dates, but none have been seen or heard from since Jan. 14, investigators said.

Detectives have not provided details on the suspicious nature of their disappearance.
A $20,000 reward is being offered by L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger's Office for information leading to the apprehension of the person or people responsible.
Though Lara and Paez share a last name, they are not related, officials said.

Car accident?

Car accident?

Welcome back Gigtu! :loveyou:

Why are you thinking car accident is a possibility? Would that be "suspicious circumstances" and merit an offer of a $20,000 reward?

Homicide detectives on Friday found the remains of three people buried northeast of Los Angeles, with officials saying they’re treating the case as suspicious deaths.

Investigators unearthed the remains in unincorporated Littlerock, a barren desert area in the Antelope Valley, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators did not say whether they were trying to connect the deaths to the disappearance of three people last heard from in January.

Jose Jorge Lara Paez, 66; Cuauhtemoc Lara, 39; and Julieta Arvizu, 49, vanished, leaving behind their possessions, and their cellphones had been turned off. Jose Lara’s car was found abandoned in February in Littlerock.

Jesus "Chuy" Guzman is described as "armed and dangerous" and is known to carry weapons, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.

He is wanted for questioning as he previously lived at the location where the remains were found Thursday — in the 30900 block of 106th Street in the unincorporated area of Littlerock, officials said.

So now they've got multiple spots on the property marked out for excavation. Sounds like this is turning into something more

Quoting from article:
A man who was wanted for questioning in seven Antelope Valley homicides and was suspected in an eighth was killed by authorities Thursday morning when he pulled out a weapon during his arrest, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.

Homicide detectives tracked Jesus “Chuy” Guzman, 34, to Charleston View, a community near the Nevada border, where, along with the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Task Force, they went to arrest him just before noon, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Guzman brandished a handgun at the pursuing officers and was shot. He died at the scene, and his weapon was recovered, authorities said.
