Mrs. Metcalf never stop looking for her husband who disappeared on Sept 17. Metcalf who suffers from Alzheimer's went for a walk with some of his fellow patients at Rutland rest home and never came back. Mrs. Metcalf has called in a psychic, written to the Dear Abby newspaper column and considered hiring a private detective. Police searched began searching immediately in an effort that included helicopters, dogs and house to house searches. However, information on the disappearance was not immediately publicized and when a neighbor saw Metcalf standing in front of his Rutland home the day after he left the rest home, the neighbor thought nothing of it. She did not know he was missing.

Mrs Metcalf I still feel that it wasn't handled properly. The Metcalf case and others in the state prompted state legislators to mandate that the media be notified after a missing person case is field.

Mrs Metcalf hopes that someone may be walking through the woods near the area where the man described as being 5'10" 152lbs with white hair disappeared and notice something.

Something has got to turn up somewhere Mrs Metcalf said its been nine months.
