Former President George H. W. Bush is in intensive care,

“Former President George H. W. Bush was rushed to intensive care with an infection just one day after his wife Barbara's funeral.

The 93-year-old was admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital on Sunday morning after contracting an infection that spread to his blood.

Bush's spokesman Jim McGrath said on Monday that he was responding to treatment and 'appeared to be recovering'.

It's not unusual for the husband to die shortly after his wife dies in a long marriage like they had. He is probably heartbroken.

Mr Bush sadly looked very frail and understandably heartbroken at Mrs. Bush’s funeral.

He's been hospitalized several times over the past year as well. He's not well, and as stated above, many times the spouse dies after their husband or wife passes away due to a broken heart. I hope and pray he recovers if that's what he wants and is meant to be.

CNN said infection led to sepsis and his blood pressure kept dropping. Both issues serious, but he is stable now.

ETA anyone that has dealt with sepsis (in my case a family member) knows that it can't be treated in one day. Recovery is long.

I said as much to my DH (47 years in June) during Barbara Bush funeral service. George H.W. and Barbara were true soulmates. He misses his dearest Barbara and wants to be with her...
