64-year old Rudy Ray Rockett, from Redondo Beach, California, was last seen in the Ransomville area of Niagara County on April 29th at approximately 4:00 p.m. He was scheduled to fly out of Buffalo Niagara International Airport at 6:30 p.m. but never showed up for his flight. Police believe he may be in southern Erie County or Cattaragus County area.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office has arrested the stepson. Gregory Roy, 29, was taken into custody on a weapons charge on April 29th. His arrest came one day after 64 year-old Rudy Ray Rockett Sr. disappeared.

Various police agencies are now taking part in a massive search for Rockett along the Erie/Cattaraugus county line.

Rockett's son said Roy was supposed to drive Rockett Sr. to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport on the 29th using his stepmother's car. Investigators later found blood in the car. Inside the cottage that Rockett Sr. and his wife have along Lake Ontario in Niagara County, Rockett Jr. said investigators found his father's ring covered in blood along with several cryptic notes written by Roy.

This is actually really close to where I live. I saw a bunch of cops downtown meeting for this. They were and still are searching zoar valley a long with a 50 mile radius around zoar valley. This is so scary, honestly [emoji852]

Praying tomorrow they find some lead. I am hoping he didn't fall down one of the many cliffs of Zoar Valley. Just recently a family went off trail and passed away while their children barely made it out of there alive. It's a scary and not safe place to be walking most of the time. I am praying and hoping he is found alive.
It is very nice out tonight. Unfortunately the weather for tomorrow is suppose to be thunderstorms and I have walked in there while it was thunderstorms once. Very unsafe and get lost easily. I hope the weather is not true and they can continue their search :sunshine:

The undersheriff for the Niagara County Sheriff's Office tells News 4, Gregory Roy's bail has been revoked, and he's now undergoing a mental evaluation.

Rockett's biological son, Rudy Ray Rockett Jr., tells News 4, Gregory Roy was in charge of driving him to the airport. Rockett Jr. said his stepbrother had gotten out of a mental facility about three weeks prior to Rockett's disappearance.

The Niagara County Sheriff undersheriff said cellphone technologies led them to believe Rockett may by in the Springville, Zoar Valley area. The search for Rockett started there Monday afternoon, but it hasn't been an easy one.
