The family of Scott Hutchison, the singer-songwriter behind Scottish indie-rock band Frightened Rabbit, have reported him missing, the BBC reports. Hutchison, 36, was last seen this morning at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry, Scotland, around 1 a.m. UK time. He is believed to have left for the nearby city of Edinburgh, where police are appealing for information on his whereabouts.

Inspector Graeme Dignan told the BBC: “We are keen to locate Scott as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well and would urge anyone who can assist with our ongoing inquiries to come forward. If you believe you have seen him since the early hours of Wednesday morning or know where he currently is, then please contact police immediately. I’d also urge Scott to get in touch with family, friends or with police, to let us know he is alright.”

Hutchison was last seen wearing “a dark baseball cap, navy blue hooded jacket, grey or khaki trousers and white trainers,” according to the BBC.

Ch Insp Alan Carson said: "It is important to stress that, at this time, we do not know definitively where Scott has headed after leaving the Dakota Hotel and the assistance of the public is therefore vital to help us with this investigation."Anyone who believes they have seen Scott since 1am on Wednesday morning should get in touch.

"In particular, the two people who crossed the Forth Road Bridge from South Queensferry at 1.10am may have useful information and we are extremely keen to speak with them.

"Similarly, we would also urge others to come forward if they have any other information relevant to our investigation.

"Finally, I'd like to reiterate our appeal to Scott directly, to make contact with family, friends, or with police and let us know where you are."

Meanwhile, Grant Hutchison, Scott's brother and bandmate in both Frightened Rabbit and Mastersystem, spoke to Radio X about the search, as Stereogum reports. "Just come back," he said in a direct plea to his brother. "There's nothing so insurmountable that we can't figure it out together and help you to get better. We're all here for you, and we all love you very much. You can see the support online, as well. Then just know that everyone loves you very much, and we just want you to come back and be safe."
