[h=3]Details of Disappearance[/h] McClure was last seen in Seattle, Washington on November 2, 1978. She and her boyfriend went to the Fandango Disco, which was inside the Sir Loin Inn at the Lake Forest Park Shopping Center, and met other friends there.

McClure had an argument with her boyfriend and decided to walk home, although her friends offered to give her a ride. Her residence was five miles away, in the 1500 block of northeast 89th Street. She was last seen walking in the 16500 block of Bothell Way northwest, about half a mile from the disco. She never arrived home and has never been heard from again.

McClure's roommate reported her missing the next day. On November 8, her driver's license was found near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405. No other clues were located, however. Few details are available in McClure's case.

[h=1]Missing mother back in spotlight after disappearing from a disco decades ago[/h] Posted 8:53 PM, January 31, 2014
“After she left the club, some of her friends went after her and passed her on the Bothell Highway,” Tompkins said. “They offered her a ride, but she refused and that was the last she was seen.”

“For many, many years I believed she was alive and I don’t know why, whether that was a real childhood hope maybe, I’m not sure. I don’t think that now,” said Jamie Stupey, Barbara’s only child.

Jamie was very young when her mother disappeared.

“I actually don’t have memories of my mom. It was ten days before my second birthday so I actually have memories of the trauma after she disappeared,” Stupey said.
Her earliest childhood memory was asking about her mother.
“I was in a bath tub at my aunt’s house and I can remember saying, ‘when do we get to go see mommy?’ that was a few weeks after she disappeared,” Stupey recalls.
News of Barbara’s disappearance made headlines for months. Her family offered a $10,000 cash reward at one time, but despite the efforts of so many, detectives only uncovered one lead in this almost 40-year old cold case.
“Her driver’s license was found during the construction of the swamp creek interchange where I-5 and 405 meet,” Tompkins said.
That discovery was just six days after she went missing and about ten miles from where she was last seen. Nothing else has ever been found.

Her drivers license being found 10 miles from where she was last seen makes me think she might've gotten into a car with someone after all. 10 miles is a long walk, and it doesn't make sense that she would go that far if her house was only 5 miles away. Going with the car theory, Barbara could've thrown her license out as a sort of evidence trail or it could've been tossed out by the driver.

On November 8, her driver's license was found near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Interstate 405. No other clues were located, however.

Police have stated they think she was abducted near Sheridan Beach. Her loved ones do not believe she would have abandoned her daughter; she disappeared ten days before the child's second birthday. Her now-grown daughter thinks she was abducted by someone she knew. McClure's case remains unsolved.

Stupey decided to tell the Unsolved Northwest team new information never shared before in hopes of gathering new leads.

"There was someone following my mom around, most likely a hired person. I’d like to know who that person was," Stupey said. "Whoever that person is, that person has answers to things we need, I think. I think it would tell a lot."

Detective Free says he has no information about her being followed by anyone.

How does Stupey know her mother was followed?
Were ALL Barbara´s friends in the car that offered her a ride? Or was one or more of them not in the car?
