David ran away from his Locust Grove, Oklahoma home on April 5, 2000, and was picked up by the police fifteen miles away in Pryor, Oklahoma, drunk, and returned to his parents. His parents sent him to a juvenile center in Claremore in an effort to change his behavior, but the center quickly discharged him back home after he was caught drinking alcohol again.

On April 8, two days after he came home, he ran away again. That evening David told his parents and sister he was going to bed and that he loved them. He crawled out of his bedroom window sometime between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. and never returned. He may have been sighted in the towns of Prylor, Tahlequah and Kenwood, Oklahoma after his disappearance, but that has not been confirmed. He has never been heard from again.

Was this article written poorly or is it just my brain? I'm very confused by it.

13 is so young. I wonder how and why he started drinking. Something must have happened to him for all those changes in his behavior to suddenly occur.

Poor boy. History of running away from home, drinking alcohol...at the age of 13.

Maybe it's just me but I wonder if he ever left that house that night. Pure speculation of course.

My heart goes out to him. 13 can be such a difficult time in life.

Can't help but wonder if this case may not have received the attention it deserved (in general. I'm not placing blame in one place) because he left voluntarily and was struggling.

I feel for his family and hope they will get answers.

20 Years and Still Searching: The David Crabtree Case

Doesn't it sound like he went out with a few friends that night?
Surely they may be able to solve this.
What has LE done to try to I.D. them?

To those boys, now men, or anyone else who knows, please find a way to anonymously provide law enforcement with the information so he can be located.
