This is just awful that the county buried her remains almost 10 years ago and her mother died not knowing if holly was alive or dead! stricter guidelines need to be established for checking the identities of jane and john does!!

Oh thanks so much for posting this story! I remember Holly's story very clearly - wasn't it on Unsolved Mysteries? I was struck by her beauty and vivaciousness, as well as her parents' unrelenting search. How tragic that her mother died before Holly was found. Ten years is WAY TOO LONG - I agree with Carolina that there has to be a better way of keeping up with the UID.

The psychic/phone call hindered this investigation IMO. And the stories from both somehow alined. The psychic said she was likely in a Marymount hospital and mentioned Marysville as a possible town, and the caller said she was in Ohio. Her mother found a Marymount hospital in Marysville, Ohio. Her remains were found a year after her disappearance in 1996. Could anyone find her Doe Network case file from when she was unidentified? Was her estimated DOD or COD ever released? Her mother tried to see if her daughter was ever in that hospital but was denied access. Could they have looked to see if her name or known alias was ever a patient there at the very least (without releasing reason for admission)? I understand hospital patient privacy laws but what about in the cases of the missing? IMO this lead could have been possibly ruled out.
Holly's family was targeted from psychics multiple times...

Another psychic told them on the Montell Williams Show that she could be found working as an exotic dancer in Hollywood. Her family went to Hollywood and searched those clubs.
The phone call (Ohio one) was traced as a prank call in Canada. So cruel!
I just saw this case on Unsolved Mysteries and was wondering if any new leads have emerged.

  • Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'3"; 110 lbs.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian. Blonde hair; hazel eyes.
  • Marks, Scars, Tattoos: Pierced ears, scars on one side of body from head to toe from being dragged behind a truck.
  • Clothing: Halter top, shorts.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Krewson was last seen at her father's residence in the vicinity of the 4000 block of 46th St. in San Diego, CA.
She borrowed money for a hotel room and was believed to be staying with her boyfriend, a transient who has a history of abusing Krewson. He took a polygraph exam. He passed it at the time. He has not been ruled out as a suspect.
A psychic told Krewson's mother that Krewson had fled an abusive situation in California and may have been in a hospital, possibly named Marymount. Three months later, the mother received a phone call and heard a voice say, "Hi, Mama." The caller said she was Holly and it sounded as if she were crying. The caller eventually said she was in Ohio, but shortly thereafter, the call was disconnected. The mother began searching for her daughter in Ohio, and found a hospital called Marymount, but, since Krewson was over age 21, no records could be released.
While trying to locate Krewson's old boyfriend, a detective found the owner of a local campsite who recalled seeing Krewson there with her boyfriend and another man in 1995; a few months after she was believed to have disappeared.
