I can see how that's true. Have you had those nasty pop-ups ever appear on your computer? Where they come from, I don't have a clue, but I get weird email ads all the time for viagra, penis enlargement stuff, breast enlargement, etc. One time in my hotmail I got something with the subject line "barnyard fun". Grosses me out!! I read the bulk of my email at work and there is no way I want this garbage popping up on my computer. I wonder who hosts this trash? Sites that require a visitor to register should state who they sell you email address to.
