BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) -- Police found a body stuffed into a freezer after going to a home to check on a 50-year-old woman and her teenage son.

Relatives of Laura Hauck and her 18-year-old son, Jeremy, told police Monday they had not heard from the pair since Friday. They remained missing.

The body was stuffed into a chest freezer headfirst. Officers were waiting for it to thaw before removing it and did not know whether it was a male or female.

Officers entered the condo through an open window on the second floor and noticed a strange odor, Detective Randy Pickett said.

The living space of the home appeared normal, investigators said.
But in the basement, police found a blood-stained mattress, a shell casing from a .22 caliber gun and a swath of blood along the floor between the mattress and small freezer.
Inside was a body, frozen solid, Pickett said. It was placed in the 2-foot-wide, 3-foot-long, 3-foot deep freezer head first. Investigators were unable to determine its gender.
"All we can see are the feet," Pickett said.
Police would not confirm who lives in the condominium, but neighbors said it is the home of Laura and Jeremy Hauck.

Jeremy Hauck has plans to attend college in the fall and study forensic science.

hmmmmmmm

While detectives scoured a Bountiful apartment Monday night for evidence of murder, a body slowly thawed in a basement freezer.
Police found the body around noon after family members requested a welfare check on a 50-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son, neither of whom had been heard from since Friday, said Lt. Randy Pickett
Officers entered the townhome-style condominium at 449 N. 400 East through an open bedroom window.

The living space of the home appeared normal, investigators said.

Well if he was the killer he surely needed to study forensic science cos i think they have him!

At least the forensic evidence was kept in tact being that it was frozen. So...I wonder if it's the 18 year old or the 50 year old. My money is on the 50 year old.

I've been searching myspace for Jeremy but have not found him so far. The article didn't mention that either him or his mother(him I'm sure) is missing.

I'm sorry, I should of thought before I spoke. :slap: I see my post disappeared, and rightly so. Can I take my foot out of my mouth now?:croc:

Yes there is a car missing.

Police are searching for the family car, a 2001 or 2002 blue Toyota Corolla.

I don't bet, but believe you may be right. I wonder if there is a car missing?

...Bountiful police are calling 18-year-old Jeremy Hauck a suspect in the death of a person whose body was found in a basement freezer on Monday...

... "We think [Jeremy Hauck] is the one who has the car. They [investigators] have developed information that he may be armed and he may be suicidal..."

..."According to the family, he just doesn't interact well with people - in just communicating to them, just speaking to them," he said. "He's a very quiet person and they basically said he could not function on his own out in the real world. He would need someone to help him..."

Jeremy Hauck is believed to have a .223-caliber rifle - possibly an AR-16 or AK-47 - in his possession, Pickett said. Inside of the condo, investigators found two empty boxes of .223-caliber ammunition.

That is not good. Lets just hope that he doesn't decide to use that on another inocent person.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) - A body found in a freezer is that of a missing 52-year-old woman and investigators have identified her son as the primary suspect in her death, police said Wednesday.

Medical examiners identified the body as that of Laura Hauck, 52, said Detective Randy Pickett. Her 18-year-old son Jeremy is missing and is the primary suspect in the case, Pickett said.

...Bountiful police said Hauck was arrested at a motel in Missoula Wednesday night.
"On a long shot they just decided to start calling all the motels and hotels in that area," Bountiful Police Lt. Randy Pickett said Thursday. "He registered under his own name..."

One has to wonder how the fruit of one's own loins could turn so rotten?!?!?!

Particularly gross is that it took so long to id the body because it had to be thawed before it could be removed! Also the boy is, of course, described as quiet, good student, with no history of violent behavior  !

I wonder why he put his mom in the freezer but left all of the evidence there where anyone entering the condo would know something awful had taken place. This is really creepy. So many kids killing their parents and parents killing their kids these days. I wonder if we will eventially find out that this kid drew creepy pictures and talked about killing people or about death with his friends.
