Vince Marinello was jailed on second-degree murder charges last week. His wife Mary died ten days ago after being shot twice in the face as she stood in a parking lot.

I wonder how they get second degree murder out of this? Planned and executed not in the heat of passion..... :furious: .

This has been a big story down here and we are all wondering the same thing. When his fema trailer was searched his disguise and a checklist was found pertaining to the murder, that sounds planned to me. it is worth noting that Vince MArinello is not only a New Orleans bigshot but is also a personal friend of the Jefferson Parish (the parish he faces charges in) sherrif, Harry Lee.

Sorry, but he looks like a snake to me.
A plea bargain?
Can the LE change the charge?
It's beyond me he's got out on bond..

heres a few more links, I kept meaning to post this story but forgot. i guess its the "mommybrain"

Not long after radio personality Vince Marinello locked eyes with Liz Caruso, while he was emceeing an Elvis impersonators contest at Mid City Bowling Lanes in 2004, the couple's romance took off at a dizzying pace.

He twirled her on the dance floor that night, according to her mother, who watched from nearby, then he invited her on their first date on Valentine's Day. They married that fall, on Oct. 24.

But equally as quickly, the relationship seemed to spiral into bitterness. Marinello reportedly chastised his new bride for spending too little time with him, sucking money from his savings and not complimenting his appearance as much as their neighbors and friends did.

Vince Marinello was that rare creature in broadcast journalism, an on-air personality who did not see his job in New Orleans as a way station en route to a bigger market. When he talked, with the faint accent native to the 9th Ward, his listeners knew straightaway that he was a son of this city.

Mid City Lanes? Don't they mean the Rock 'n Bowl?

Interesting--so the marriage to the 3rd wife was effectively bogus since he had only filed for divorce from the 2nd wife 8 days before. It takes a year for an uncontested marriage to be processed in NO. Also telling is the fact his own brother has no doubts that he did it. Marcinello really comes off as a narcissistic a-hole in his vile anti-love letters to his wife. My 2nd husband would sometimes talk to me that way. Argh.

I think so. I think with Louisiana being the way it is and all his connections, not to mention money,he will walk on this one. My thoughts are with Mary Elizabeth Marinello's family.

Maybe not. It sounded like Harry Lee was washing his hands of him. And when your own family doesn;t have anything good to say about you--well, that goes pretty far with juries down there.

Thanks to all of you great WS posters for the posts and links.:)
