Leaving aside the microscopic forensic evidence and the clothing of the victim I am trying to compile a comprehensive list of items of evidence found at the crime scene. This is with a view to ranking the evidence according to its relevance to the case.

There are countless rumours and reports scattered through ten years of accounts. What's fact and what's fiction? What's relevant and what's not? Below is a brief list as a start. What have I got wrong? What have I missed? Any assistance in compiling a comprehensive list of FACTS on this is greatly appreciated. - Plenum7.

RANSOM NOTE

Three page ransom note repoortedly found on the lower steps of the spiral stairs.

A blanket in the suitcase found under the basement window. The blanket revealed semen stains belonging to John Andrew R.

SWISS ARMY KNIFE

Found in the basement laundry. Knife belonged to Burke. Housekeeper claims that she had confiscated the knife from Burke and had hidden it in an upstairs closet. Possibly used to cut the cord used to strangle the victim.

DICTIONARY MARKED AT THE WORD "INCEST"

Reports that a dictionary was found (open?) on the sunroom table (?) with an ear marking the word 'incest". (Or is this a rumour?)

Green Christmas garland found in the victim's hair and matching the decorative Christmas material decorating the spiral staircase of the Ramsey house.

WHITE CLOTH CORD

Nightgown found beside body. Or as some have speculated, a gown from a life-size doll.

The Duct Tape - some facts gleaned from an array of previous threads.

1. It was placed over the victim's mouth after death. No tongue print or saliva on the tape and such a strip of duct tape could *never* remain in place if the victim was alive and struggling. It would not have been an effective gag. This has been demonstrated. The tape could not have performed any practical function in the murder - it is part of the staging.

2. It seems the duct tape had previously been used for some other purpose. It was not a fresh strip of duct tape but was being reused.

3. It was a new type of duct tape and so recently purchased. The manufacturers had changed the adhesive in their tape only recently.

4. The duct tape brand was ShurTape.

Thanks Wrenbird. 1 x pink Barbie nightgown.

from a previous thread:

From the 1998 interviews while reviewing crime scene photos:

PATSY RAMSEY: "It is her Barbie nightgown."

TOM HANEY: "Is that hers or her Barbie doll's? When would she have worn that last, do you know?"

PATSY RAMSEY: "Well, she didn't wear it that night because she had her -- she had the long underwear pants and her little white shirt. And the night before on Christmas Eve night she wore the pink little (inaudible) that was under her pillow."
