TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- There's hope that two new clues will help solve a mystery surrounding a woman found dead in a canal. A passerby saw the woman's body Sunday along State Road 50 near I-95 in Titusville.
The woman was wearing a necklace and a top. Brevard County investigators hope someone will recognize the items so they can identify her.
A driver actually spotted her body in the canal from the road.
"People who saw the body were in a Winnebago, they were pretty high up, and looked over and said, 'That looks like a body,' and called 911," explained Detective Gary Harrell, Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said she was a white female in her late teens to early 30s.Investigators were waiting on autopsy results to determine how she died. They believe her body had been in the canal for several days.
